I truly wish I could give this place 10 stars. Went here several times during my stay in CDMX because the dishes were always so good and so consistent. I'm not sure what the bad reviews are about, but because it is a small place that shares a communal table, we made sure to come near opening hours on weekdays and always received lovely service. Staff is friendly, helpful, and very nice. Well deserved Michelin star food spot.

A very healthy option for breakfast or lunch. I enjoyed every time I ate here at Comal Oculto, the service was excellent and the food was very very fresh. Their cafe de olla has been my favorite coffee I’ve had in CDMX, along with their guacamole. Their gorditas and tacos de Chamorro were very flavorful and I will definitely be going back at least one more time before leaving.

Cute little place, we waited 30 mins for a spot for 4 of us at the one communal table. Loved the gorditas and mole enchiladas. Worth the wait.

This was a local rec so we had high hopes but unfortunately the experience was quite disappointing. We put our names down, we were told it would be a 35 minute wait. Our names were called an hour an ten minutes later. The food was a hit and miss. The mole was way too sweet for us, the green sauce was better, the chicken was ok. On the positive side, the salsas were very good, the pork was tasty and the price is reasonable. Overall, for us it was not worth the over hour long wait. Maybe we came at an off day, I don’t know, but we wasted two hours for an ok food.

If you like meaty tacos, get the chamorro! (Pictured below) Well seasoned, juicy pork leg meat that is fork tender. Topped with micro greens and red onion - really brings out the brightness and cuts through some of the richness of the meat. For a starter, You can't go wrong with their Guacamole - freshly made and chips.

The flauta ahogado is fried and comes with a delicious mole and crema. Lastly the  Quesadilla de jamaica was a nice way to end the meal - sweet and savory.

Everyone sits at one large table. Which is kinda cool because you get to see what others ordered. There are different salsas, tomato based one is level 1, smoked red chili, level 2, and the ones with the peanuts is level 3. Only add that one if you are sure you'll be okay with the heat.

Highly recommend eating here if you're in the area.
