I thought this place was okay. The coffee and pastries were very good. The eggs in the  vegetarian omelette were a tad rubbery, and the French toast was inconsistent- some pieces were very soft and others were burnt. The free bread and yogurt were both very tasty and appreciated. Thank you

I’ve been to Lara&Luca many times! I don’t know how I haven’t reviewed it until now but now I can honestly say that I try to come here every time I visit Mexico which is usually 2 times a year. It’s wonderful having this place so close to playacar. Away from all the typical touristy stuff. They can get pretty busy so be early! But they do turn out delicious food quickly. Everyone is always very friendly and attentive. The coffee is always perfect too. By far my favorite breakfast spot.

This was not a good experience, the cafe is very noisy and the service was poor (our server was inattentive and kept forgetting things), the food was nothing to write home about and in the case of the French Toast very poorly presented. The coffee was awful and the flat white was undrinkable. Overpriced and overrated, do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

The food and coffee were excellent! The manager greeted us at the door, the service was very good as well. Would recommend to anyone visiting playa del Carmen!

We went to the cafe for breakfast, about 11. the cafe was half empty, the waiters didn't come for about 10 minutes and we practically decided to leave when a waitress with a very dissatisfied face came up to us and silently gave the menu. The impression was already a little spoiled.
We ordered 2 types of breakfasts - one was with eggs, and another was chilaquiles verdes con pollo...  the quality of the food this time was not great. Chilaquiles were a bit weird, without soft cheese and the sauce was strange. overall, couldn't eat half. eggs -ok, its hard to spoil.  Pancakes were ok.They put different types of sauces on them, without specifying whether you want them or not, plus bacon. In my opinion, it could be better to serve sauces separately or on the side of the dish.  As a compliment you will get a yummy yogurt with granola, and a little cookie with a cup of your coffee. It's pretty cute. In general, at a price level of around 200 pesos per dish, you expect more.
