This hotel is horrible. Very shady area with night time staff who doesn't know how to help guest when they have maintenance issues and was helping another person with their issues, so clearly this hotel is falling apart. The only offer was to move rooms but I am a single woman who did not feel safe moving rooms at midnight. Instead of contacting me to find out why I did not want to move rooms, the manager emails me and repeats what the front desk guy stated. I understand policies exist for a reason, however, there should be exceptions as well. The bathroom light fixture was literally leaking and the room was falling apart. The ONLY reason I gave "service" two stars was because the female front desk agent in the evening was INCREDIBLE and deserves to work somewhere better.

DO NOT STAY HERE! At first; I figured it was a cool lil place to stay a night or two on a budget and especially if you won't be in the room much. However; today; 4/18; my key card didn't work and I went to get another one. I was talked to rude and condescending as tho I was stupid! I asked for a Supv and one wasn't provided. I told him that he need to watch his tone because he was being rude and it wasn't any cause for it! He finally made my key card! He wouldn't give me his full name; but he said it was Brent, or some to that nature when I asked for his Boss. He said he was on a jet as we were speaking! So I said I would follow up with them/corporate. So I video'd him as he was already video'ing me. Told him as I left he was rude. As I turned the corner to go back to my room; he exited his office at a fast pace and met me at the corner and ran up to me as had already said he would "whup my black azz!" Not knowing what he had on him and his aggression towards me after making that statement; I pushed him out of my face and told him that he shouldn't be threatening me because I will defend myself. Then, he said don't hit him and that he was recording me. He ran out the door and said he had something for me. These days any threat should be taken seriously and I took it just that way as he proved he wanted to do more than talk! This is unacceptable for any employee and he should be fired! Other co-workers of his were around but it seemed like business as usual. Quite disturbing if you ask me! If you read all of this; please call them (205 945-9888) and also let them know that this behavior is unacceptable and what are they doing to change this? I also have a photo of the employee buy I won't post it until/unless something is done.

While the hotel room was clean and the price was right, I still gave this a one star review. So why? Simply put, the management of this hotel has forgotten that this is a hotel and not the confines of their home. I arrived late one night to check in. I immediately noticed a man wearing only a pair of small shorts sprawled on the sofa playing on his phone. No shirt, shoes, just a pair of gym shorts. The check in went easy and the attendant was pleasant and professional, despite the manager (owner?) sprawled upon a sofa mere feet away happily scratching himself, oblivious to common courtesy. Anyway, I get to my room. Clean, good for the price, TV worked, and I was asleep pretty quick after a long day of work. The next day I was woken by screaming. I jumped up, got dressed (showing more decency than the manager did the previous evening) and went towards the commotion. I discovered the manager's wife literally screaming angrily into a phone as other members of the family lounged in the breakfast area. The manager came out, grabbed the phone and started screaming into the phone, as well. Since it was in a different language, I do not know what the issue was, but at seven in the morning there really is no excuse. On a side note, at least the manager was dressed more than the previous evening. Again, this is a price conscious hotel, but I still feel that guests are entitled to a modicum of respect. This is not a private abode, but a business and should be treated as such.

Booked room thru hotels.com. If I could rate negative I would. We didn't even get checked into the hotel. As we pulled into the parking lot we were greated with lights and sirens. First one cop then two cops then three cops. When we went to the lobby to check in there were 2 guys arguing with the front desk clerk who was threatening to call the police and remove them. We walked out and went back to our cars. I am traveling with my children and my elderly mom at that point we didn't feel safe. I called the hotel front desk to ask about canceling and getting a refund. The lady who answered the phone acted like none of this happened and like I was crazy for even saying anything. She told me you aren't getting a refund. Im busy and hung up on me.

If you're looking for a decent place to stay on a budget, this place is it. My husband and I stayed here on our road trip going to and back from Miami, Florida. The check in was pleasant enough and went quickly. Our room was big and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. I loved the fact that our coffeemaker was a one cup coffeemaker. I prefer those to be honest. The area the hotel is located in is nice and we felt safe. There was a fitness center on site and breakfast area. I would say that the breakfast area left a little to be desired. It was waffles, fruit, muffins, and oatmeal, as well as coffee and juice. So if you want something else, there are choices all around. I did notice that there never seemed to be any milk for cereal. No milk for cereal?! It's a good hotel overall and at a great price. I'd stay there and take myself out to breakfast somewhere else though.

Room was nice, clean . Lady at front desk was nice and professional. Only problem was no Wi-Fi. I was able to get it on my phone but it wasn't working. Would have been nice to get a weather report.

Small hotel and not too many perks.... But I was given a clean room. Friendly staff. Quiet stay. Managers helped me sign up for rewards program. For the price it was well worth it.

Pros: warm bed, decent shower and a tv with plenty of channels Cons: continental breakfast apparently ran out of food around 7:30am and no elevator. Also the floors are creaky. It's good for one night. Anything longer and I would upgrade.

I feel like a couple of the other reviewers haven't stayed in budget hotels before. You're not getting gourmet breakfast. You're not getting a modern facility with leather. I can say, as legit negatives, that the outdoors and especially staircase smell of smoking. (Since people walk up the stairs after smoking, I bet that's why the scent lingers inside - I doubt people are smoking indoors.) The room itself smells perfectly smoke-free. Also, the walls are rather thin - I definitely hear other people moving and opening/closing doors. Are the walls perfect? No! There are a few stains or missing paint chips, etc. So what? I'm not paying for them to repaint the wall every year. There's working A/C in the wall and nothing living is running around besides me. Bathroom is just fine, no mold issues. I'm good. -1 for the smoke smell and thinness of the walls. Maybe -1.5. But if I was waffling between 3 and 4 stars, the one star reviews have made me round up. It's really not that bad as budget hotels go. Again - if it's not crawling with other fauna, you're doing at least 2 stars right there.

Disappointing experience. Booked on Priceline because it looked nice and was highly rated. The website didn't give me the option to choose my room type; instead it referred me to the desk at check in. I told the clerk I needed 2 beds because I was traveling with someone. He charged me a $10 "upgrade" fee? I will be disputing this. Even though I booked through Priceline, it is still incumbent upon the property to assure the correct information. This "upgrade fee" was not disclosed upon booking. Very shady! The room was somewhat clean, but the beds are uncomfortable and the pillows are flat. The wall in the bathroom above the shower head is warped and full of mold.
