Great gluten free experience. Very knowledgeable staff and what I suspect to be a manager even came out of the kitchen to verify allergies and to explain certain kitchen practices. Food was yummy!

Taco Mama is so consistent. One of the only spots open in Edgewood on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Staff was friendly and quick, food was on par with the normal Taco Mama experience. This is a great location, some outdoor seating, some indoor, not quite as crowded as the Summit one. Although I'm sure this place is crawling with kiddos sometimes. Taco Mama has certainly raised their prices a lot over the years. I got a chicken quesadilla and a fountain drink and ended up paying about $23 with tip. This is a little steep, especially for lunch. Especially with the quesadilla, I would opt for a smaller portion if it knocked a few dollars off the price. I will add, I used to work at a Taco Mama and I know the front of house staff gets paid about $6/hr. They're working for tips, like most service industry folk. Be kind, and don't assume that because it's not table service you don't have to tip.

I love coming here for lunch on Taco Tuesdays. The only downside to this location is the parking. There are limited street parking spaces out front and the nearby lots fill up quickly even at lunchtime. The wait to order varies greatly from no wait to a long line. At lunch I invariably get tacos from the Justice is Served (grilled shrimp or grilled flounder with ancho chile slaw, avocado, tomatoes, and roasted poblano tartar.), Cheezy Beef (Barbacoa (braised beef) with tomatoes, onions, cilantro, queso, lettuce, queso fresco, and mild salsa ranchera.) or a Mix & Match. Regardless of the wait to order the food arrives quickly and is always tasty. The decor is eclectic and I enjoy grabbing the table under the Jeep grill. When we pick up from the location closer to home for Dinner, I almost always get the Steak Quesadilla served with chips and salsa, pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream and the amazing Chipotle Ranch.

I like to stop in to Taco Mama. I don't visit this location often, because parking can be a bit of a nightmare. However, the food never disappoints. I went right at 11 to meet some friends and lucked up and found a parking space right out front. It wasn't overly crowded when we met up, but started to get busy soon afterwards. The service was really quick and the food was tasty. For the most part, I stick to getting tacos. The queso and chips are always so good. One of my friends customized and did a build your own. I like the variety on their menu and they also offer catering options.

Well, the perfect spot is located in Homewood, Alabama. Stop by when you are shopping and need a snack. The sangria was very good, like the sliced fruits, with my drink. Also, the queso and cheese was delicious. Love me some cheesy queso and chips. They were hot and fresh. This spot will definitely get a 9 out of 10.it had pretty of light and a lot of fresh air they had the door and window open. The service was outstanding. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

I ordered a grilled chicken quesadilla, received a shredded chicken quesadilla that just tasted like one of those cold pieces of cheese you peel apart. The chips are thin and slightly stale, the salsa tastes like it's freshly poured out of a jar from the store. Overall bland and unappetizing and disappointing for SIXTEEN DOLLARS ($16) I am not exaggerating that Taco Bell would: taste fresher and cost much less for much more food.

This was our first time to try Taco Mama and what an experience it was! Homewood is a fantastic area of Birmingham, and this location was high energy and had an industrial feel. The line was intimidating but the kitchen's efficiency has us served in no time! I went for the basic tacos because if a place named Taco Mama can't nail that, well, you get the idea. They were fantastic, as were the chips, salsa, and chorizo-spiked beans. Would go back again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

I really don't think you can beat the Barbacoa nachos at Taco Mama! You can get them piled high with every topping imaginable - which is exactly what we did. One order is definitely enough for two people to share! TM has recently raised their prices, but the nachos are basically 2 meals for the price of 1. A great, quick, easy meal out when you're looking for that!

This is a cozy environment. The food is always incredibly delicious and the service is fast. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming. I can tell this is a valued restaurant in the community. They are so kind to the people and the kids love to come and get their fountain drinks after school. Ever since my wife and I stopped and dined in at this location, we have no desire to try any other location.
