This hidden gem is definitely a hit or miss!  The vegetarian options were a miss, but the ribs and chicken were a hit!  The fish and salad were typical. Honestly, I would recommend at least trying it.  The staff was great and the options were plenty.  They even have a mini bar area.

I ordered the meatloaf, which was overcooked like a burnt end. I didn't complain, I just didn't finish it.  It came with Mac and cheese and peach cobbler. Both were very good.
My husband had the Chicken Parmesan with a small piece of Garlic bread. He thought it was good, but should have included a salad for the cost.  Same with my meatloaf, rather pricey at $15.00 for a small piece of burnt on the end meatloaf.  The taste was bland to me as well.  It was a cozy place though quite cold sitting by a window in fall/winter months, so bring a jacket!

Just want to remind everyone to get some Sommer's Place gift cards for Christmas. I waited too late last year and they were sold out before I could get one. For every $50 you buy, you get a $10 card for yourself, so don't wait! Just ask Donny to fix you up!

I rarely write reviews unless they are very good or very bad.  But in this case, I can't say enough good about Sommer's Place.  I have owned restaurants and eaten in most every place in Montgomery for years.  I can honestly say that Sommer's is overall the best in this area.  I eat there 3-4 times a week and I never get tired of it.  Their crab claws and fried oysters are fabulous, and the filets and prime rib melt in your mouth.  They also have wonderful fresh fish specials on Friday nights, and they serve homemade meat-and-three at both lunch and dinner, which is excellent as well.  What I love most about Sommer's is the friendly, family atmosphere.  It's a great place to relax and have a drink (they have a full bar) without a loud nightclub environment.  They also have excellent experienced servers, with some who have been there for over 25 years!  I highly recommend Sommer's Place for anyone who wants great food, great service, and decent prices!

Family owned restaurant with a variety of options on the menu. Our group of 14 chose to eat here and I didn't hear one complaint about the food. The fried oysters were said to be very good as well as the prime rib. Hubby and I had the meat and 3. Fried chicken breast was good,  country fried steak and mashed potatoes were good also. The best was their squash casserole! I wasn't expecting much but was surprised at how good it was! I'd go back just for that! We chose the fruit crisp fir dessert and were surprised at the large portion.
Best of all was the fantastic service! Our server took care of all our needs quickly and with ease. Wish I could remember his name!
