Arrive 2 hours before your flight! Montgomery Regional Airport is a nice, tidy well kept airport with a few flight choices daily. All the goodness of this airport ends at the TSA checkpoint, though. It's slow. Really slow. I've been through major international airports that screen 10x faster. It wouldn't be that bad if they're at least friendly. They're not friendly...at all. I get it. They probably deal with some impatient people because their line is taking so long, but it seems a little over the top. Moral of the story...the small convenient airport isn't always all that convenient.

Need to staff the car rental area - Hertz closes at 7pm the one person remaining is trying to help people and clean cars. I booked my car at noon for a 10:30pm arrival and they haven't planned for me. Airport needs to manage staffing better. Agent was helpful and doing his best.

What a great little airport. Designed to be user friendly, everything is close-by. From check-in to arrivals to baggage pickup to car rental. All right there. A very small place, and everyone is very friendly. I recommend flying in here, as opposed to flying in to Atlanta and driving. This place is easy to use, and fast to navigate.

MGM is a small regional airport serving the Montgomery area. The 2 national airlines are American and Delta. There is 1 convenient store, 1 restaurant and a Dunkin' Donut shop. The terminals are easy to get around, southern hospitality is present but the flight options are limited and expensive. Though there is a major presence of the Tuskegee Airman and the Legacy Museums sites posted throughout the airport, there are no items to purchase for either. There are charging towers available on the tables plenty of natural light with flier to ceiling views of the airfield.

Montgomery regional airport is small however it is a very clean efficient organized airport. We were able to move through TSA with little delay. The staff at the airport from maintenance to restaurant workers were all very pleasant. I even found the young lady at the thrifty car rental counter nice. If by chance you stop in Montgomery or just passing through and find yourself at Montgomery regional airport, you will be pleasantly surprised. The detail of historical information throughout, its cleanliness and friendliness is top-notch.

Not unless you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO, fly somewhere else! The customer service is horrible, from everyone. Security, TSA gate agents, coffee shop...just MEAN!

The biggest compliment I can give this place is that it is absolutely efficient. With this being a regional airport, it is a bit small which could lend to the efficiency of the facility. Let's do a quick overview of the airport. With it being small, checking in is swift. You only seem to have two airlines that fly in and out of here so that makes it easy to find where you need to go. This being a small airport everything is quite laid back. You don't feel hassled or rushed when you go through check in and security. TSA checkpoint here was really simple. Even though they have TSA Precheck, it is basically void here as there never really seems to be a hold up in lines. Literally I walked up, plopped my stuff on the belt, walked through and was on the terminal side. Really nothing separating the two lines, just kind of walk up, go through. Terminal side, small, again, I hate to redundant, but everything here feels like you might be in a mock up of an airport, but it is a fully functional airport. There are only six gates, so there is no mistake with figuring out where you have to be. The good thing with this is that it is again efficient with boarding the plane. Let's go back to the entrance side. All bags come to one claim area. So if your flight happens to land around the same time as another, all bags will be mixed together. That is if your bag arrives with you. See, with it being a regional airport, it equals smaller planes. This has nothing to do with the airport, but the airlines may bump your luggage on you. This actually happened to my colleague. We arrived around 11 in the morning, but her luggage wasn't showing up until 6 that evening. Without any way for it to be delivered, she had to make her way back to the airport to get her luggage. When in town for work, that's not always the best situation. Honestly, the baggage claim was probably the most fun and easy spot here. Grab your bag and head outside to get transportation to where you need to go. Speaking of transportation, wait a bit when trying to get an Uber. You'll end up missing the surge pricing. Back to the terminal side. With it being a small airport, there wasn't much in offerings for food/shopping. At the time I was there, there was only one eatery open and if I remember correctly, one shop open for snacks/gifts. Which was odd, there was a kiosk type situation going on for Dunkin' but besides the signs, nothing was offered. What appeared to be other storefronts that could be used, were in fact storage. How do you know? What is stored is up against the frosted glass and you can see it from the seating area. I didn't step foot towards the eatery as it was overcrowded, I did go into the store, much simpler and easier to navigate. The seating area again. What I liked about this is that it was abundant. Especially since not all gates are in use, so if you feel the need to spread out, you are more than welcome to go to another gate area. I absolutely loved the tables here. Shared space with pop up outlets for regular plugs and USB. Bathrooms were clean and in working condition. I was lucky the day I was flying out. It was the week that a storm was rolling across the country. I think I was on one of the only flights out of MGM that day. All other flights after a certain point out of here, were cancelled. Lots of people ended up being stuck, diverted, or driving to a nearby airport.

I hope that I never have to come back here. Aside from the staff being friendly I cannot say anything else good about MGM. I have been spoiled by other smaller, cleaner, modern airports (CAE) with several dining options. This is the polar opposite- dated, tiny and unpleasant experience overall. Dunkin, a snack/gift shop, one restaurant/bar, and a few vending machines. Dunkin employee kept patting his itchy dreads on his head and didn't wear gloves. They do not have anything other than coffee and donuts. I ordered on the app and he told me I have to get a refund from the app because they don't have any breakfast items. Old bathrooms need serious updating. Why would you place hand sanitizer dispensers above each toilet for nasty germs to get on them? I also couldn't get the water to turn on in one of the bathrooms. Food and drinks are overpriced. $25 for a turkey sandwich, a tiny portion of fries and a soda. The refillable "filtered" water from the station was disgusting so I paid another 5 dollars for a small bottle of water. Ridiculously hard seats when working on your laptop for a long period. Charging stations may or may not work. I had to move a few times to find one that did. No chargers near the the cushioned seats.
