The food is good, but this waitress is the worst, this place was a lot better without her. Also when you do order, watch your charges, and keep the receipt.

I used to eat here frequently in the 1980s. Much to my surprise and pleasure Northern China Restaurant is still operating with its classic recipe delights - and it’s just as good. Affordable price points; diverse Chinese-centric menu; attentive staff; clean and comfortable atmosphere.Delicious and well-worth lunch, dinner, or take-out. And the photos don’t do the taste justice. You won’t be disappointed.

This little place is ran by what seems to be a wonderful family. The lady who sat us was extremely friendly, and genuinely seemed to care. The food was very fresh and flavorful, and the portions were generous. The soup that came with my husband's meal was amazing too, full of cabbage and zucchini. I will definitely eat here again.

This was the worst food my family has ever eaten.
Everything was either overcooked, almost burnt, tasteless or too oily. The fried rice was hard and no flavor, sesame chicken was so dry a fork wouldn't go in, and way too sweet. The hot and sour soup tasted like sour chicken broth, wasn't hot (flavor) and the veggies had no flavor. . The crab wontons had no discernable crab and were just shy of burnt and too hard to eat, the tempura shrimp were very oily, the chicken chow main was soggy and the flavorless.
The steamed dumplings egg rolls and white rice were good enough to earn the one star rating.
It was not worth the time it to took to order and pick up let alone eat.
Not worth the cost at all!
And we were charged more for everything than was indicated on the online menu.
Never going back.

I am coming from Virginia and this place has better quality food than anywhere where I'm from. I'd love to suggest this place to anyone local or traveling to Anchorage, very tasty and had all the elements in texture and all. 12 out of 10 stars.
