I was very disappointed with this Aloft. Even though most workers were very nice, their lack of communication contributed to my negative experience. My partner and I arrived around 11:30pm very tired from a long flight. When we got to our room we learned that it was not cleaned at all- bed was not made, toilet was full, towels everywhere. Since we were tired it was disappointing to have to go back downstairs and wait for them to check which other room was available. In addition, when we asked to combine a reservation for the next day, the front desk was confused on how to do that and said it would not be done until the next day, but that she would leave a note for morning front desk. The next morning, we tried asking for this again and said that the correct worker was not in yet. Because of this we had problems with our key card. We didn't realize that the room attendants do not come everyday, and on day 2 we had to track down the attendants to write us down for service because no one told them we were staying for another day. We had to ask the front desk man for extra towels because they only gave us one, and he mentioned that it would not his job. This was surprising, considering we usually ask front desk for any missing supplies, and they communicate this to whoever. We were disappointed when we asked him once again about keys not working, and denying us asking him. Instead of finding a solution we were met with specific description of worker questioning and denial. The breakfast was also disappointing on the first morning. We decided to dine-in and we had to wait an hour to get our food. We were lucky that we woke up early to have breakfast before going to our tour because we did not expect breakfast to that long considering there were not that many people. The 2nd and 3rd day of breakfast was much better and faster when we asked for it to go and the front desk lady personally found us and handed us the bag, and the 3rd morning the man was very quick to serve us. The last lack of communication encountered was on the last day and we had checked out already and it looks like finally the girl in charge of extension got the note and asked us about extending our stay. It was strange since we had already done it and were about to leave. When I return to Anchorage I will not be booking at this Aloft.

I always thought that you couldn't go wrong staying at a Marriott regardless of the location. Their name was synonymous with a high level of quality. Then I was introduced to Aloft Anchorage. When we walked in and approached the front desk we were the only guests in sight, so we figured the check in process would go quickly. The man behind the desk was busy speaking on a walkie talkie to who I assumed to be another employee. Ok, not a problem, I wasn't bothered that he didn't drop whatever he was doing to help us that second. But, as the minutes dragged on, his failure to acknowledge us in any way grew more and more awkward. A simple "Hi, I'll be with you shortly" would have sufficed. Once he eventually spoke to us and pulled up our reservation he told us our rooms weren't ready. We would need to give the staff time to clean them. Now, this would be totally understandable had it been earlier in the day but it was after 8pm. On top of that, our reservations were made months in advance. Upon entering our room, just as other reviewers have pointed out, the first thing we noticed was the lack of privacy. Only a curtain separated the shower and vanity area from the rest of the room. There were sliding doors in front of the toilet, but ours didn't close completely which left a gap in the middle. I'm sure they were trying to create a bohemian, modern feel with this setup, but personally, I'd rather just have traditional walls and doors around a bathroom. As if the bathroom situation wasn't bad enough already, we found out later that night that the shower leaked. Water steadily pelted the metal drain below, disrupting our much needed sleep. In my utterly exhausted, semi delirious state I imagined that the fridge wanted to join in on the torture when it started to make very loud whirring noises intermittently. It was clearly in need of some service. After piling towels on the shower floor to absorb the dripping water and unplugging the fridge it was finally time to get a good night's sleep - for the couple hours that were left of it at least. Normally I wouldn't be so critical of a hotel that's clean and safe with fairly comfortable beds. But at the steep price of almost $375 per night ($750 since we got 2 rooms) it was much too costly for such an all around unpleasant experience.

First time here and can't wait to come back! Every detail - game rooms, plenty of lobby seating for gatherings, food options, cleanliness, and the staff....wow!!! Friendly, welcoming....best experience at a hotel in a very long time!

This was a very disappointing experience! The reception was the smallest I've ever seen, just for two receptionists. Though there were just two parties in front of us we had to wait more than 30 minutes to check in and the staff was not very friendly or welcoming. There were supposed to be two restaurants which is not true. There was one decent bar that just served different kinds of microwaved wings and that's NOT a restaurant! The other so called restaurant was just a corner by the reception with chips, sweets, brown bananas, old muffins and a coffee machine. Somebody wrote that there was free coffee and cookies upon arrival, not for us, though. Free Uber to the airport? that were not mentioned at all so how could we know? The wall between the bedroom and bathroom was open on the top of the wall so no privacy at all. There were two sets of flimsy sliding doors between the shower and toilet and between the bed room and the bathroom, not a great idea. There were garbage left in the waste basket and the shower doors were not clean. But the shower was good sized. There was also a airplane tag in the ice bucket from 7/29 and we checked in on 8/9 so that had not been cleaned in a while. No room service, which I knew, I ordered a glass of wine to carry up to my room instead of sitting in the bar, but that was not allowed. It was NOT allowed to order food for delivery the only things you could eat what you could buy and those two non-restaurants. arriott, I expected more from you!

Really are the thinnest walls I have ever had in a modern building. Can hear your neighbors like they were in the same room. It's like the builder made it the same as a storage unit walls or something. Also whoever picked out the pillows needs to find a new job. They look like pillows but when you lay your head on them they deflate and turn into a thin layer of concrete. Woke up from noise and pain from horrible pillows. Pretty basic things for a hotel to have in my opinion. Skip it.

Amazing place that is now our "go to" hotel when we're in Anchorage. Yes the bathroom setup was a bit funky but they solved it by adding a partition curtain. The beds are super comfy and we liked having food and drinks available at the hotel. It offers a full size bar with a pretty good list of food options.

Great clean hotel. Very modern. It's not a full service hotel but close. It does have a restaurant that opens at 5:00 pm and the bar even stays open until 11 or 12. Courtyards usually close at 9. I saw a review that said there is no bathroom privacy but the bathroom has a sliding door. Not sure what the issue is. I will stay here again when in Anchorage. My experience was totally positive.

1. They have coffee and free cookies when you walk in. 2 they offer free Uber ride to airport 3. Hotel is modern and well kept This might be a newer property. Staff overall is very friendly ( except the bartender. She was about as warm as Alaskan winter). Property is well maintained and very amenities were new. Close to everything I thought very highly of this property. One draw back is that they are next to a busy road. They did provide a noise maker which helped greatly. I will be returning soon.

This place has given us a false noise complaint without a true reasoning. All day we've heard banging and yelling, and we've been pretty quiet, but instead we get the noise complaint and they threaten to call police. The man Jorge who works night security has been mean and has given false noice complaints every time we've stayed. I'm not sure if it's because he thinks he'll get a better pay, or he just likes being a pain. Not only was their customer service wack, but the rooms lack basic needs like privacy. Usually the rooms at least have a curtain blocking the bathrooms, which is already not very private, but ours lacked a curtain or a rod. In a previous stay, we asked for an air mattress because the beds were smaller than expected. And the air mattress deflated, and was uncomfortable, and loud. If you like privacy and comfort, I do not recommend staying here, this place is way to expensive to be dealing with these problems.

Looks new but is so tired. Two visits and there is always some maintenance issue with the elevators, lobby, fridges or more. I bought into Aloft years ago, but the lack of evolution and design coupled with the annoying staff guarantees I won't ever stay here again. The isolated location is also a nightmare if you would just like to walk to a place to eat. Just bad.
