When I walked into the place I was only wanting a lemonade and hot dog.
The greeting and friendly welcome of Mr. Moss at the counter caused me to ask him what was good.
He smiled quite proudly,I might add, when he said, "I love the Rodeo Burger."
I told him chalk it up and toss on a large Dr Pepper then asked him not to tell my doctor. He said the closest thing they had was Root beer. I went for it.
When I opened this burger I was immediately satisfied with my choice. A non - uniformed inconsistent burger will just the right amount of juiciness to make my doctors angry.
I dove right in.
The customers truly love the place and the crooked pictures on the walls and wide open apnosphere and high ceilings made it completely cozy and enjoyable.

This location has been in a steady decline as far as portion sized, accuracy of the orders.  I stopped in to grab a dipped Italian Beef sandwich with hot Gardiner as I have thousands of timec since I was born. They served me a bun that had a spoonful of auju thrown over 4.5 slices of beef and half a jar of hot Gardiner. THIS was far from satisfying and nowhere near what's proper example of a Portillo's Italian beef and the most disappointing $27 I've wasted lately.

Soooooo good! I absolutely love their chili cheese dogs. My girlfriend and I were in the Phoenix area for only 4 days and have never eaten at Portillos. Sunday night we tried one in Phoenix, loved it. Had it again Tuesday for lunch in Tempe and again, delicious. The Italian with sweet and hot peppers was very very good as well.

First time here. The food is very good. Can't really comment on the service because we used one of the kiosks. The atmosphere is fine. I'm sure it would mean a lot more to individuals from Chicago. It is a large restaurant with plenty of seating. We tried the cheeseburgers, they are huge, and the price is very reasonable I've been to other burger joints that cost far more for way less in quality. What more can I really say? I'm glad I went, but for me living in Chandler, Arizona, it's too far of a drive to make this place one of my regulars. There are half a dozen other burger places in my own backyard that I enjoy just as much. Just my honest opinion. But if you've never been there, it is definitely worth a try.
