The only good thing they have is the jerk chicken, which does not make up for any of the other problems this place has. Bad food for high prices. A jerk of a manager, who goes above and beyond in making his customers feel unappreciated. The only reason this place is still open is because they are close to some of the people in the building; if it weren't for winters in Baltimore and time-constraints, no one would come here. Every time I go, I am reminded that the extra 5 minute walk to any other restaurant is worth the better lunch and friendlier service. Unrecommended with extreme prejudice.

What's wrong with me? This is like one of those bad relationships that you keep going back to because it's convenient rather than because you truly like them. Food is expensive and mediocre at best. The manager is so incredibly rude and mean to not only her employees (I don't think there has been a day that I haven't seen her yelling at her employees and giving them evil looks in front of all the customers) but also to her customers! The last time I was here I ordered a hot water for my tea (I bought my own bag). The cashier didn't have a chance to ring me up yet and I asked if the hot water cost any money. The manager yelled from 10 feet away, "YES OF COURSE IT COST MONEY. IT'S 50 CENTS!!!! CAN'T YOU READ THE BOARD?" WHOA WHOA there...I told her to calm down as it's only 8 in the morning and she didn't need to catch an attitude because I never said I wasn't going to pay. If you have such a hate on life then maybe you should stop working in the food industry or better yet, stop being around people. The other employees have always been courteous and nice so far. So I feel bad for them having to work around such a tyrant. Her attitude as a manager has caused such a low rating because the leader of the ship makes the difference. Also the 10 oz cups are only 6 oz. Why advertise it as such when you are clearly lying? This was the last straw, so I'll not be coming back.

Explored this place just yesterday invited by a friend. I saw the front cafe many a times walking through this hallway but never ventured in since I thought it was just a cafe and I don't drink coffee/caffeinated beverages. My friend and I got lunch from the buffet bar hidden away in the back. Apparently, everything is advertised as halal even the vegetables lol :D That's cool. They had two different kinds of fried chicken, fried fish, fries, sweet potato, green beans with turkey, Salisbury steak, hard boiled eggs, Mac & cheese, and salad items. Food was okay and experience was not bad considering the convenient location, okay price and enjoyable seating area. According to my friend, the menu changes and they had biryani (rice with vegetable/meat) once so I will be back :)

To whom it may concern, I was a part of a summer program that served certain foods as free lunches that were covered and payed for by the program to this cafe. We were allowed to get whatever we wanted out of the cafe too but this place was more convenient. However, what I received was horrible treatment from the Head Chef and sometimes the Manager who took out her anger from the employees on us students. They were constantly bickering and screaming from other-sides of the cafe to the chefs who sometimes MICROWAVED the food that was said to be freshly cooked, taking leftovers from the microwave and serving them and sometimes not even wearing gloves during food prep. One prime example of there horrible treatment and inappropriate behavior was when a couple of me and my friends were sitting on this seat and the head chef approached us and yelled at us that we were "off boundaries" and couldn't sit there, in front of the entire bustling cafe. The area had no signs whatsoever nor anything that would dictate otherwise. Unfortunately, certain drinks are put up and sold despite the employees having a lack of knowledge on how to make said drinks. I've been served slurry chocolate milk that was called a "Mocha Frappacunio". I would give half a star but it wouldn't be fair to the poor souls who work there (minus the manager and head chef). Please only go out of convenience, otherwise if you would like your money's worth- head over to the Daily Grind, where the sell good quality food at an fair price.

I've been a faithful patron of the Greenhouse Cafe for more than 8 years and can't say enough about the restaurant or the co-owners Anita and Chef Randy. One of the highlights is the buffet that features a different cultural/ethnic food each day of the week. My personal favorite in Caribbean day- Jerk chicken, oxtails, curry goat, rice and peas, plantains, and the list goes on! Of course there is also a grill and cafe available daily. They've recently had a couple of coffee tastings and have changed their distributor based upon the reception they've gotten from the customers... talk about responsive. The Greenhouse also does wonders with catering. I've organized several events, some of which required feeding up to 100 people, and I have been very pleased with the service, pricing, and cuisine afforded by the Greenhouse Cafe and its staff. If you're in or around the Hopkins medical campus you should definitely check this place out. And if you're not nearby, it'd be worth making a trip!

Food is horrible. I just tried their veggie biryani and the rice looks old, their tandoori chicken has literally no taste, and on top of that their falafel doesn't even look like falafel. Idk about their coffees and stuff, might be good, but food is terrible quality, they should put more effort in their buffet cooking.

I am so glad I finally found this yelp site. I work inside JHH and I often walk over to Green House for lunch. This cafe is a joke, im surprised it hasn't been shut down yet. Every time I go in its the same thing. They verbally and physically assault their employees. I witnessed one incident and heard about the other one. They dont wear gloves when preparing the food. The managers are rude to customers as well as the employees. I heard the white lady threaten one of her employees. Its sad. I feel bad and wish the best of luck to the employees. The food is okay on some days. The pizza is horrible, it tastes old and looks like they re-melted the cheese. I could go on and on but I wouldnt recommend it to an enemy. Food disgusting and horrible bosses!!!!!!

The Green House cafe is very convenient for students and staff alike at Johns Hopkins. They have a nice variety of breakfast and lunch items, I especially enjoy the Grilled Cheese. We have also used them for catering. They are always prompt and willing to accommodate us even for a last minute order.
