I wish I could give zero stars. Absolutely the most disgusting, uncomfortable hotel I've ever stayed in. Do not stay here if any of the following things are important to you: -comfortable bed (they have the lumpiest beds I've ever seen) -comfortable pillows (they have the flattest pillows I've ever seen and only provide two of them for a full size bed). We literally went and bought our own pillows because theirs were so bad. -shower with sufficient water pressure -adequate parking -clean room without blood stains -actual closet -amenities like an iron, coffee pot, hair dryer, etc. I know it's a cheap hotel, but I still feel like they could, at the very least, provide a clean room without dirt and blood on the walls, ceiling and doors. I will most definitely not stay here ever again.

PSA DONT STAY HERE! so so so dirty.... hair in the bathroom and on the shower walls. Dirty walls and sticky floors. Very smelly in the rooms and just very poorly kept. Needs new paint and a DEEP DEEP clean. Idk why the review are good... I wish. I never stayed here. Cobwebs and little roaches all over the property at night

Booked this property through Booking.com 2 weeks in advance of the Memorial weekend. The c.c. used to hold reservation was declined but Booking.com notified me via email and text to state that my reservation was still valid but a new credit card was needed within 2 hours of those notifications. I updated reservation within 30 minutes and received confirmation from Booking.com that it was updated. Needless to say the NEWPORT BAY INN canceled my reservation not Booking.com! When I called to troubleshoot this problem a male was extremely argumentative, forcefully over talking me instead of listening to what I was trying to say and insisted repatitiously contact Booking.com. I did. The agent was helpful as best she could but I chose not to book again with NEWPORT BAY INN. Found a GREAT deal on HOTWIRE staying at the Reninassance Newport Beach!!!

Great room. Decent price the owner was very nice man and made check in very easy and fast, place was quiet and extremely clean. Only thing was the bed was super firm that it had no give... so was a uncomfortable sleep for me... But everything was very nice about this place. My daughter slept perfectly

This quaint lil hotel deserves much more credit than it appears to have been given by past reviewers. I've literally maybe only ever written one or two other reviews of establishments in my entire 30 years of life but I am so pleased and impressed with this hotel, owners, and staff, that I felt compelled to sit down and take the time to do so. It's a very small place, only about 20 rooms, all of which being on the first and only level so it's very handicapped friendly and there's always ample parking spaces available. The owner victor and his wife are incredibly kind, hospitable, and welcoming (three things u don't often see from owners of the several other small hotels along the same road. These people make u feel right at home, take the time to remember u by first name, and exceptionally accommodating during your stay. The rooms are impeccably well cleaned and recently renovated despite the cost per nice being so low. As I said above, I never care to write reviews but this adorable lil hotel truly deserves every positive word. Thank u again to you victor and your beautiful wife for your hospitality and I very much looking forward to coming back to stay at the Newport Bay Inn when I next come back to Costa Mesa.

Worst experience ever. Poorest customer service.Turned me down because imply didn't like my attitude and I said nothing negative.No kidding,the guy at the desk was extremely discriminative.dont recommend.STAY AWAY AT ALL COST

Crappy bed, smelly room, questionable markings and light fixtures that dont completely turn off. Unless your making a drug deal or bringing back a prostitute, you might want to fund better accommodations than this place.

Not as clean as the pictures they show online of the remodel. The floors are dirty and the toilet had pee all around the bottom along with splattered stuff all over the walls. I wouldn't stay here again.

This was the worst hotel I have ever been to. Absolutely one of the most disgusting and smelly rooms I've ever been. The smell was so bad I only lasted about 20 minutes before I decided to leave and book another hotel. Blood stains on the bed, floor, and towels. Place was surrounded with homeless and drug addicts hanging out with in the hotel property. When I asked to check out and get a refund for not staying the desk attendant just acted like he couldn't understand me until I just decided to leave.

When I checked into NEWPORT BAY INN to room 15 with my 8 year old son on 6/2/18 in room I found blood splatter on the bathroom floor and shower curtain, a small dope bag in the corner, a crusty wash rag hanging over the shower curtain and when I went to the office they said they had no other room available and the wife came to grab the wash rag with toilet paper. As I waited in the doorway for wife to come back (which she never did), a man walked out of room 1. When I turned back around he was laying on the ground. I ran over to help and found him overdosing. I called 911 because nobody was in sight or watching cameras. I got managers attention to come out and as he watched what was happening calmly. Fire truck, police, and ambulance came and took the person that overdosed. They said they are careful with who they let stay there, but still let the druggy who originally rented the room stay and just told him that his friends couldn't come back!! Then the manager said he would refund me HALF of what I paid! At this point this should be a full refund as I work in hospitality myself. I ended up obviously not staying and called the next day for the rest of my refund that he said he would give me if I didn't stay and he said he had to talk to his boss because he wasn't sure if he could. He called me back and refunded the rest after arguing with me about it. I never complain, but my son was traumatized and they should have been appreciative I didn't let that man die on their property. I have pictures of everything. I cannot believe this place has a 4.5 star rating online and it was in Newport in a very nice area so it completely surprised me!! I will NEVER stay in another "INN" again.
