Before this, I have only been to the Burlingame location! So happy i got to try this location as well. Curry Hyuga has been a long time favorite place for katsu curry. We came here on a Monday afternoon at around 1 PM! It wasn't busy so we were seated right away and service was very prompt and friendly. Ambiance was very comfortable as well! The warm lighting makes it very cozy. The katsu serving is slightly larger than that of the other location, which I definitely appreciate! And the taste is consistent as well. The katsu held its crispiness in the curry as well which kept it very yummy. We also ordered a regular size edamame appetizer which was served hot and already salted with pepper. I really enjoyed it being hot as some places do serve it cold. Overall, I would definitely recommend to any Japanese curry lovers out there! And I would come again if I am ever in the area.

After a nice long walk around the De Anza Flea Market, we headed over to Curry Hyuga in Cupertino. There were quite a few groups of people waiting. We quickly listed on the waitlist and was called in 20 minutes. After returning from our recent vacation in Tokyo, Japan, I was really looking forward to eating here. I ordered the Beef Hyashi Om-Rice; my hubby ordered the Assorted Veggie Curry. We also opted for a side of Karaage Chicken. The Karaage arrived almost immediately. It was so moist while flavorful and crispy. My hubby was delighted with the types of veggies (pumpkin squash, eggplant and bell pepper). When my hubby sampled my beef hyashi om-rice, he remarked that the sauce was quite different than he expected and not like his dish. It was quite unique with a tangy flavor while still savory and sweet. The wait staff are very cordial, accommodating and efficient. The food comes out of the kitchen in a very timely fashion. I was impressed with the efficiency.

I always think of curry hyuga when I'm craving fried curry food or passing by their other chain in Burlingame. The food is really good and comforting. However, I think their Burlingame chain is noticeably better. This location lacks a little in food freshness and service. Ive only ordered take out, but the inside can be crowded.

My boyfriend and I were really excited to try this place since there's always a long wait and it seemed so popular. We were in the mood for pork katsu, but after waiting about 30 minutes, this place turned out to be a huge letdown. It definitely doesn't live up to the hype. Here's a breakdown of why: Pork Katsu Cutlet: It had a nice crunch and good breading, but the meat was extremely dry. The pork itself was almost crunchy from how overcooked it was. Curry: The curry was way too salty and made me feel a bit queasy, even when eaten with rice. The sauce also wasn't hot enough, it was just warm, so my cheese didn't melt. I expect curry to be steaming hot, not lukewarm. This experience honestly makes me not want to eat Japanese curry again. The server was friendly, and the potato salad was good. But that was about it...those were the only positive comments I have for this place.

Just stopped by when I was around the area. No expectations at all. However, a big big wow. The signature curry with tonkatsu is really tasty. I added pork and egg for an extra $7, and I had no regret. Amazing combination for me. The service, hell yeah, was unbelievable. They were professional. I understood that it was packed, but the servers were really calm and fast. Cleaned up and set up at the same time. I love seeing it. Will come back soon, and a big shout-out to you guys. I give this restaurant an A plus.

Made it to Curry Hyuga after a much anticipated wait. The curry is delicious and flavorful. I think, like with anything else trendy in the Bay, temper your expectations. I was primed to expect life-changing curry. It was delicious (not life-changing). They have a tablet waitlist, so get there early and sign in - be prepared to wait. My friend and I met at noon for lunch on a Sunday and were seated probably 30 minutes later. Fortunately, there is a lot to see and walk around while waiting in the complex. Once seated, staff were so friendly and attentive. Would definitely return for the service. Seating is limited and the space is small, so you might bump elbows with your neighbor. But The curry was flavorful, and the katsu was so crispy. Parking can be tough since it's a busy shopping complex, but we always find a spot. Overall, a solid curry spot.

I ordered the Chicken Katsu with an extra Pork Katsu. It came out within 10 minutes. The curry tastes sour. It's onion-based and I enjoyed it. The sauce complements the meats. This store is small and always has a long line so come early as you can to reserve your spot. It's a great place for dates and small hangouts. The parking lot is really full though.

Ordered door dash of pumpkin curry + egg dom + 1piece Menchi meat and it was deliciousssss. I think they over gave on the rice but maybe someone would appreciate that? Nice egg dom over it, came with lots of pieces of nicely well cooked pumpkin, soft and surprisingly went well with the curry. I appreciate the food is not overly salty and feels healthy and light even tho it's curry! Free extra cabbage i also appreciate. The Menchi 1 piece was cooked perfectly, flavored perfectly, wow. The container was a little messy with the curry kind of spilling out but glad on the amt of curry. Overall another best meal i had this week, fav japanese curry place in bay area!

We've ordered delivery once before, and finally went in-person to try it out. The staff were quick to seat us and swoop by with water - a great boon in these hot times. There's a small little rack with 5 different peppers to turn up the heat. We ordered the chicken katsu teishoku and a pork signature katsu curry at spice level 3, with an added menchi katsu. The katsu was delightfully crispy and juicy. The spaghetti that came along with the teishoku is a little sweet, but as a result, is a nice compliment to the heaviness of the katsu. The miso soup was pretty bland, though. The teishoku comes with a heaping pile of cabbage. The curry was fine - I'll probably play around with the peppers on the table as opposed to ordering a preset spice level, since it ended up changing the flavor a bit too much. The menchi was delicious, and though I was a little too full at the end, it was definitely worth adding.

Curry Hyuga is one of the restaurants that we pass by that is always packed and has a line out the door constantly. Decided to go check it out and had to wait about 30-40 minutes, but because this location is in a big shopping plaza, it wasn't too bad. We actually put our name on the list and went to go shopping about an hour before we wanted to eat and surprisingly we got a text that our table was ready 15 minutes into waiting despite it saying est. 45 minute wait - but the host helped us update our wait list position to the back and we were able to be there to grab a table 30 minutes later when we were ready. The menu is quite simple with an assortment of fried mains to add to your curry and a few standard japanese appetizers. The curry came to us piping hot but we were so hungry we dug in anyways. The meats were cooked to perfection and the curry was a great savory pairing with it. Also provides red pickled ginger which I love. The table also comes with 4 different spice seasonings that all kind of tasted similar despite having distinct descriptions like 'jalapeno' or 'togarashi' or 'african bird spice' - the main distinguishing factor was the spice level which was more pronounced. Overall and great go-to japanese curry house for anyone in the area.
