We love Breakfast Republic! I swear we eat here at least twice a week. Some of my favorites are the breakfast Jambalaya, Shrimp & Grits, and the Jurassic pork Benny. You must try the Jurassic pork at least once in your life!!! Service is always great, thanks to Dalton! Thank you again for the umbrella, was not expecting the first rain of the season & it came in handy. Will be back, probably later this week hahah

Came here on a whim. On Sunday prime brunch time approx. 10am Host said 30 min wait time, we got lucky 2 seats opened at the bar (first come first serve). Wasn't greeted, no menus, No friendly faces. Took a bit to be acknowledged. Drinks: ordered the bloody Maria. It was fine. Too thick. My date ordered the mule. He said it was sweet and artificial. Food: the cheddar Jalapeno sausage omelette with potatoes and sub pancake. Potatoes were dry. They were mostly the tiny, crisp scraps. :( The breakfast burger was decent. 3/5 Not sure if the omelette was small or the plate it was served on was huge. Won't ever come back.

We stopped by on the weekend after an event at UCI. There was a 30-40 min wait on the weekend. The staff was friendly in taking our name down on the waitlist. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant itself is decently sized but can be kinda hectic when it's busy. Outdoor seating was not as noisy as indoor but you do have to be mindful of flies haha. Menu was pretty standard for most breakfast/brunch places. Because it was busy, it did take a while before the staff came back to take our order. I think we waited around 10mins after being seated. After ordering food it did take more than 15mins to get our drink order and shortly after did our food come out. Overall the food was ok. My friend got the crab and crawfish eggs Benedict but it didn't have a lot of crawfish on it. It seemed a little overpriced for what it was. I got a San Diego eggs Benedict which I thought was ok. Overall not a bad experience but not sure if I'll be back unless I have something to do in that area. Parking isn't too bad since it's in the university plaza. There are some parking spots marked for 30mins and 2hr, I guess be mindful of that. It wasn't hard to find a spot on the weekend.

My service was amazing Gloria came through and was a legend I appreciate it. Made everything I ate taste way better thank you! Ambiance was super chill everyone was doing their own thing it was smooth!

Breakfast Republic was a bit of a disappointment for me, and I'll explain why. I usually look at three things when judging a restaurant for such Yelp review: atmosphere, service, and food. Atmosphere is the strongest part of this place. It looks great inside, with lots of fun details that show thought went into the design. From quirky salt and pepper shakers to cool artwork and even the plates, it's clear someone cared about making it visually appealing. Cozy, clean, and a place you'd want to sit in. Service was good too. The hostess gave me a little attitude when I seated myself (since no one was at the stand), but no big deal. Our waitress was excellent. She was friendly, attentive, and quick to handle extra requests. Food... this is where things fell apart. The ingredients are cheap, the cooking careless. The eggs were so tiny that a "two or three egg omelet" looked closer to one. The potatoes were the worst: deep-fried starch crumbs with nothing fresh about them, oily and tasteless. I think they deep fry potatoes instead of grilling them. Ughhh! This is the kind of food that makes you feel like you shouldn't have eaten it. I came here with my wife because of the name Breakfast Republic, expecting a solid breakfast. But with food this bad, it's just not worth coming back. Atmosphere and service can't save a kitchen that doesn't deliver.

Love love love Breakfast Republic! My girlfriends and I have come here two weekends in a row now. It's a great place for brunch, with a variety of cocktails (including mimosas by the bottle with lots of juices/syrups to choose from) and delicious food. The breakfast mac 'n' cheese is a standout. Dalton and Sarah are our favorites at the bar. They're hilarious and make it an even more fun time! I'd say the only downside to this place is their parking lot, since it's entirely 30-minute limit spots due to the Trader Joe's and Target on either side of Breakfast Republic, but there are a few two-hour spots at the very end of the parking lot. It's also a smaller space so you might have to wait for a table for a bit, which isn't terrible since the ambiance is playful and chill. Also LOL to the guy who claimed he got "kicked off" of the bar this morning--the bartender politely asked if he could scoot down two stools so that our party could all sit together, but he just up and left then decided to whine about it on Yelp, I guess. Weird behavior but okay! (Their staff is very friendly and happy to accommodate everyone accordingly.) It's a lovely brunch spot. We'll be back for sure!

I was really looking forward to trying Breakfast Republic, seeing the thousands of reviews on Yelp. I ordered the Seasonal Scramble with 3 eggs and seasonal sautéed vegetables. It came with a side of breakfast potatoes. The dish was very dry and salty, and the potatoes were stale. I had to put them in the air fryer for another three minutes and they were not much better. I also ordered the Brioche French Toast, all via Doordash. I didn't think you could go wrong with breakfast. After all, it's my favorite meal of the day. Unfortunately, this was the saddest breakfast I have had in MY LIFE. I am not one to complain or leave bad reviews, but maybe because I ordered on Doordash, the chef did not even care to put in any effort in making my meal. The Brioche French Toast was basically just 2 slices of brioche with butter slapped on it, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. There was no egg in it. To make matters worse, the side of supposed scrambled eggs was a just a solid rubbery mass with absolutely no flavor. They did not season the eggs at all. All I could taste was butter and rubber. I even tried to fix the food by putting some of it back onto a pan on the stove and in the air fryer... but it was unsalvagable. I will not be ordering from or stepping foot into Breakfast Republic again. Definitely not a place you want to go for breakfast.

Food was delicious, presentation was cute! Establishment was clean and centrally located. Service was quick and our server- Gloria, was super friendly! Bloody Mary's-- 10/10!

I've been to this place many times, and overall, it's just okay. Their biggest success is their branding--young, playful, and vibrant. This theme carries through their décor, menu, and even little details like the salt and pepper shakers. Getting a table for weekend brunch can be a hassle. Today's wait was about 45 minutes, which is consistent with past experiences. After being seated, we waited another 15 minutes before placing our order. Although the restaurant was about 60% full, they seemed understaffed and the service was slow. I appreciate that they have vegan options on the menu and fun named dishes like "Jurassic Pork"--a thick slice of candied bacon. I've tried many of their dishes, and they've all been just okay. Today, I ordered the Protein Lover's Omelet. I'd recommend adding something healthier like peppers or spinach, otherwise--as the name suggests--it's very meat-heavy. The potatoes were a bit stale. Our server was friendly and apologetic about the slow service. She even brought a bowl of water for our dog, which was much appreciated. All in all, it was just an okay experience. Somehow, it never quite lives up to the hype, even after so many visits (usually because other people insist on going).
