Mori's is the kind of coffee shop you instantly want to come back to. It's super cozy, really clean, and has the nicest staff. I tried their ceremonial matcha and loved that it's customizable. You can pick your milk and sweetness level which is perfect if you like your matcha a certain way. I also got their house coffee and it was smooth and rich with no bitterness. For food, I ordered the egg sandwich and the chicken caesar salad and both were delicious. The egg sandwich was fluffy and flavorful and the salad was super fresh with the perfect amount of dressing. It's such a relaxing spot to study, meet a friend, or just sit with a good drink. Definitely one of my new favorite finds near campus.

An amazing Matcha spot has taken over the location where a prominent kimbap place used to be, and to be honest, I'm really liking it! Situated in Avenue One is Mori's, a place recommended to me by a friend who is a Matcha connoisseur. In fact, when I walked in, I immediately saw the cans of matcha she prepares on the shelf! They definitely know what they are doing. A small place, there isn't much seating except for a raised bar, and a few chairs outside, but you can walk up a few feet and get to a shared patio for all the restaurants. I had the blueberry matcha, and wow. Flavor was on point. I did 100% sweetness just to gauge their levels, even though it was pointed out that 50% is normal... And 100% tastes a bit too sweet for me. I will have to try the 50% or 25% next time. There is food, but we did not order any (this was an after lunch destination!) The person who took our order was extremely sweet, and very helpful with recommendations. We'll be back. You can bet on it!

Stopped by for a quick lunch + matcha around noon on a weekday and there wasn't necessarily a line, but definitely a steady stream of customers! ~the drinks~ - Taro match fresh milk ($6.75): This was my favorite drink from Mori's! I really loved that they added chunks of fresh taro inside the drink, and it doesn't have that purple, artificial flavorings, so the subtle flavors of the fresh taro pairs really well with the matcha! 50% sweetness was perfect for me! - Cloudy matcha ($6.75): also really enjoyed this one! The cheese foam on top was very creamy, but wasn't too overly sweet! I also got this one at 50% sweetness, and it was just right! - Cream brûlée matcha swirl ($6.95): this one was good, but not my favorite of the three drinks; The cream brulee inside the drink was really creamy and had almost a nice pudding flavor! The matcha part is blended, which the staff did say when we ordered it, but somehow, the blended matcha part was a little too icy? Maybe they needed to blend it more, but the ice was still pretty crunchy; good flavor, but didn't love the blended matcha part ~the food~ - Honey & spicy skinless chicken thigh grain bowl ($16.45): pretty good! I loved that the bowl had a lot of veggies underneath! The chicken itself was also pretty good! I think it could've used a bit more flavor, but added some sauce and it was just right! Nice balanced bowl for lunch! - Eel/Unagi grain bowl ($18.95) : The unagi was pretty good! It was very tender/soft and paired well with the rice/veggies as well! Portions were pretty reasonable considering the price of the bowl! ~overall~ I really loved their Taro Matcha drink, so I'll definitely be back to get it again! Not a whole lot of tables/seating inside, so probably not a great spot to study, but there are some seating options outside, so I still think it's a great spot to get nice casual lunch/matcha.

I really enjoyed this place. It's more of a grab and go drink and food stop. I wouldn't recommend working or studying here as there were only 2 small tables. They had a large selection of drinks and I would love to try their food or health drinks next time. We ordered the double matcha and strawberry matcha. They were both creamy and I liked that the strawberry flavor wasn't too overpowering. You can adjust sweetness too which is nice.

Location: Weird spot! Tucked away on a strip of stores inside of an apartment complex? I don't know how to explain it but had to walk a bit from parking. I believe they have rear parking but we didn't check it out. Food: Got the double matcha and uji matcha latte! They use lactose free milk in their drinks which is mad considerate for the sensitive tummy girlies. However, if you like a creamier matcha, you may not find it here because of that. You can choose richness for the uji matcha, and all matcha drinks lean towards unsweetened. I got 75% sweet and rich but if you like a a sweeter, more robust flavor I'd go more rich and 100%. Very smooth with nary an earthy grass flavor, which was a surprise with how deep the color was. Will be back to try food because it was presented so nice! Service: Standard and quick Ambiance: Quite small! Grab and go.

Authentic and strong matcha! They advertise that they use high quality matcha from Japan, and I can tell the difference. I love strong matcha so I tried the uji matcha latte and paid extra for the extra rich version. After adding oat milk, my drink was almost $9, but it definitely was one of the strongest matchas I've had! I would recommend getting 75% sweetness, or 50% if you don't like things too sweet. They also sell food, and I definitely want to try their dishes next time! The location is a little hard to find, as it's located in the middle of an apartment complex, but there is a free parking structure right next to it. There is also outdoor seating around the whole area for a casual hangout. Staff was friendly and our drinks were made quickly!

Some of the best matcha I've tried in all of OC usually I like it entirely unsweetened but I took the chance to try their ube matcha and still got it extra double matcha and their ube was the perfect amount of sweetness and you can taste real fruits in it. Really appreciate their effort to use real ingredients and good quality matcha bc honestly most places in SoCal really lack both parts (good matcha and making syrups purees in house with fresh ingredients). Most places just use monin and I hate monin.

Just discovered this incredible matcha spot near UCI and I had to share because WOW! Came in and tried their Uji Rich Matcha Latte, Crème Brûlée Matcha Swirl, and Cloudy Matcha - you can immediately taste that they're using ceremonial grade matcha sourced directly from Uji, Japan. The quality difference is so noticeable compared to other places! But what absolutely blew my mind was their HANDCRAFT TARO situation. They literally steam and crush real taro and ube by hand in-house, then mix it with milk. You can actually taste the tiny taro bites in every single sip! It's completely different from those places that just use artificial taro powder - this is the real deal and you can tell they put so much care into making it fresh. Also got their Honey & Spicy Chicken Thigh which was the perfect savory complement to balance out all that matcha sweetness. Really hit the spot! What I loved most about this place: * Their house-made organic cane sugar syrup isn't overly sweet by default, but you can customize it up to 75% or 100% if you want * Everything is made with lactose-free milk which is amazing * Super convenient location for UCI students and locals * They have these energy grain bowls that look perfect for a working lunch The attention to detail here is incredible. You can tell they really care about quality ingredients and the craft behind each drink. Whether you're a UCI student looking for a study spot or just someone who appreciates really good matcha, this place is definitely worth checking out!
