Perfect spot for a little lunch date! Pricing and quality was top-notch ✅

Atmosphere is upscale, staff was incredibly friendly.

I could belived there were so many people lined up before it opened for lunch! I ordered the New York Steak lunch and it was good. The portion was not huge but it wasn't small neither. The taste was good. The place was busy so the servers couldn't come often to our table to take care of our needs, and that was understandable.
I will come back with my family.

Wanted to try a new sushi spot and had Sushi Kisen on my list of places to try. So happy we did. They had two of my favorites, which is very rare for places east of the 110 fwy. Awabi (abalone) and mirugai (giant clam). Pricy, but was expected. Our dishes were generally good to great and very fresh. We had so many, types of fish it was a bit hard to track. Service was average to poor though. We were greeted quickly and with a smile, but went down hill from there. Our server didn’t seem like she wanted to be there that night. It was very warm and temps inside were warm, so maybe that was the cause, but it’s not like I caused that :(.

This is by far the best sushi restaurant I have visited so far in the greater LA area. It is 100% authentic and real Japanese cuisine, fish is very fresh, and food is delicious!

The service is wonderful. Most staff are of a Japanese background and very familiar with the menu which is great, ask them a question if you are not sure. When arriving, make sure you have your entire party with you as the restaurant is in high demand and with limited seating so you won’t get a table unless everyone is there.

Once you get seated, I highly recommend the hot tea and one of the dinner plates (deluxe or premium dinner plate). It is always changing and comes with a variety of sushi. When I was there, the deluxe had maki and tuna nigiri while the premium had shrimp and crab. Miso soup was delicious!

Regarding fish, it is a very high grade of fish meat. You can tell the fish was properly filleted during preparation and it melts in your mouth.

10/10 - will be back

Busy restaurant in the corner of a small plaza.
No reservations at noon, only at night time, so first come first served, and the entire party must be there to get in or you’ll have to keep waiting.  Rotation is rather fast depending on who is dining since most people are in their lunch break.
Ambience is chilled with light natural wood colors, very traditional style.
Servers are always very polite and orders are made rather quickly with some small dishes as appetizers to keep you busy.
The quality of their ingredients is always fresh and the presentation is just a piece of art every time.
We just love this place! It’s never disappointing and their prices are fair. $22 for sashimi lunch is a bargain! $35 for their special sushi or chirashi is simply a good deal!
