If it was the tour alone it would be 5 stars. Tour was great.  It's self guided, no earphones.  We spent over 2 hours wandering around.  The down side is the way they make you pay for parking really sucks.  People were trying to pay to get out for 25 minutes each.  Instructions suck and no one there to assist.

My family had a very interesting visit. My two young children got to play a little game of ticking on paper, they were very excited. The adults also got to learn about the ship which was very interesting. Children over 3 years old had to pay for tickets. About >29$ for 3-65 years old.

The President's Tour was a once in a lifetime experience. It was like being in a time machine and seeing things just like they were all those years ago. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and told us anecdotes from the time of the ship's service.
Those among the ship's staff treat it like home and it has been kept clean and polished like it was going to sail into a mission tomorrow.
I would definitely recommend a visit to this piece of history that we are still lucky enough to witness.

The USS Iowa is an educational and fun floating museum. We did not book a guided tour. However, the self guided tour was very informative in its own right and fun. We visited on Pearl Harbor Day, and over the duration of our stay, they had FDR's address playing over the battleship's PA system, which was a nice touch. After our tour, we visited their well-stocked gift shop as well as Vicky's Doghouse on the fantail for some fantastic hot dogs and beverages. Overall, she was a great experience, and we will be back to visit her again, next time on a guided tour.

We spent a couple of hours touring the USS Iowa and really enjoyed learning more about this ship. It has an amazing history with both triumphs and tragedies. We got there later in the day, which meant we only had access to the self guided tour (it was good!). But it also gave us the chance to talk with the volunteers who had wonderful stories about the Iowa, including David who served on her in the mid- to late-80s.

Two recommendations - get there earlier in the day so you can go on the guided tour to see the engine room and FDR's bathtub; and be prepared to climb up and down lots of steps - when in doubt, climb down backwards.
