I love the old style feel in this place.  They even wear attire that makes you feel like you stepped into the past.  They have recipes from many different decades that span through their 100+ years of existence.  They have lots of history in the community.  The service was top notch and the food very flavorful.  My only take back from this place was the chips and salsa, for me the chips were just regular ole chips I can get anywhere.  They should be what drives the customer to come back to try the whole menu.

1- Star, why? For starters, the food was bad! Ordered tortillas soup that tasted out of the can! Sweet! And not savory at all. Chimichanga chicken filling was smothered in yellow cheese, Fish tacos were HORRIBLE! Super dried for $22 dollars?? They can up their menu by offering quality food, not quantity! The server kept coming, and we weren't completely done when he brought us the check!
Parking is $9.00 dollars, and that was our first and last time going there... I Highly Don't Recommend it! If you are truly Hispanic looking for a taste of True Mexican Food! This is not the place... it is more geared to people who don't have a palate. Straight out!

Have heard about El Cholo for years, so I was looking forward to the visit. My experience was underwhelming as I felt there could have been more flavor in my Chili Colorado, although the fajitas were a hit. Carnitas barely had any taste. This is a solid 3.5 stars location.

I love El Cholo. I’ll start there. It’s been around for 100 years and there’s a reason why! I had 2 colleagues in town, one from the UK and one from China. Both wanted authentic Mexican while visiting LA. Duh. Who doesn’t?! 😝 Took them here after reading about it in Traveler and they delivered on all fronts. Food, service, and homey atmosphere - ✔️  Was back in LA a couple weeks ago and decided to pop in for lunch after my meeting. Sat at the bar and had an equally excellent experience. Bartender was fantastic, food on point. I’ll be back time and time again when I’m in the neighborhood. (It’s worth the valet fee 😉)

Food was alright. I wasn’t a huge fan of the crab enchiladas. The pesto sauce was kind of weird. Prices were good. The margaritas were strong and good. Atmosphere was very fun.

Uber-föraren föreslog denna restaurang och jag är glad att jag åkte. Maten var god. Min vän fick fajitas med kyckling och jag fick enchiladas för ost. Min enda negativa kommentar är att de inte hade så många alternativ för vegetarianer eller pescatarians. Allt hade nötkött eller kyckling i det så jag slutade med ost enchiladas. De var bra så jag skulle gå tillbaka igen.

Vi hade inte enorma behov, men ärligt talat var denna restaurang den värsta mexikanska maten jag har haft på några decennier. . . och det i Los Angeles? Platsen hoppade veckan efter jul, men servicepersonalen verkade mycket underminerad. Vi fick chips och salsa på bordet och lämnades sedan i över en halv timme innan vi gjorde en beställning. Maten tog för evigt att komma, barnen somnade faktiskt vid bordet och väntar. Något tycktes inte (kanske någon vänta personal inte dyker upp? "? Chefen var ute?"?).

Vi åkte till Original El Cholo för 50 år sedan många gånger under våra USC-dagar. Så vi bestämde oss för att gå tillbaka när vi firade 50 år sedan vi träffades. Det var en besvikelse. Priserna är höga ($ 15, 95 mot $ 1. 35 för en kombinationsskylt). Delarna är mindre. Matkvaliteten ligger inte nära vad den brukade vara. Kom in för en tidig middag (16.00) och personalen var vänlig, snabb, men visste när de skulle lämna oss vara. Maten var utmärkt. . stek fajitas var fantastiska, och guac var bra också. Kommer att vara tillbaka!

Denna plats är en sann klassiker som jag har åkt i 20 plus år. Maten är bra och dryckerna är fasta. På menyn finns stora tallrikar med familjen stil mexikansk mat. Platsen har en trevlig stor bar med bekväma stolar. Guacamole, chili con carne och LA-limonad är de bästa.

Var i stan för att besöka min dotter. Jag hade varit på deras andra plats. Denna plats besviker inte heller. Fast traditionell mexikansk mat med mycket bra margaritas. Bordsidan guac är också bra. Hade lite av en väntan, men inget så illa.

Vi hade en reservation för fyra och var omedelbart sittande. Tjänsten var bra. Vi fick en påfyllning av chips och salsa medan vi väntade på vår aptitretare. Våra drycker serverades i rätt tid. Förrätten var guacamole beredd vid bordet. Vi kunde få servern att lägga till ingredienserna i vårt val. Det var utsökt och de förde mer marker som var mycket färska.
Två av oss beställde en speciell kväll som var en tampinquena biff, enchilada, bönor, lök och paprika. Enchilada var utsökt. Biffen var inte en tunn fred av biff men ganska tjock och vi hade beställt medium sällsynta. Det var gott liksom bönorna. Den grillade chilen tändde min mun av eld. Gå försiktigt på att äta en.
Vi skulle återvända.

Att gå in i den här restaurangen är som att gå tillbaka i tiden. Den har en underbar och historisk atmosfär som du nästan glömmer att beställa din måltid. Denna restaurang öppnade i början av 1920-talet och du kan spendera timmar på att titta på alla svartvita fotografier som finns inom denna anläggning.

Så långt som maten, förbered dig på en utsökt måltid. Personalen är mycket vänlig och du kommer att njuta av atmosfären under din tid där. Det är ganska "diamant i grovt" och du kan inte gå fel med att äta här. Parkering är gott och se till att ta några hemlagade guacamole som jag visade på min bild nedan.

På rekommendation besökte vi denna restaurang, vi hittade personalen att vara mycket vänlig och maten var smaskiga, det kom piping varmt och mycket välsmakande, min make hade chili och jag hade räkor fajita riktigt bra. Skulle säkert besöka igen
