This is the taco spot to be at. Simple menu Dayummm good taco!!  Chile Colorado taco on handmade flour tortilla to mention a few.   Nothing covering up the good flavor of the tortilla and meat filling.  Worth the drive where ever you're coming from!

Great first impression with El ruso. Have wanted to get for so long and didn't disappoint. Spendy tacos but worth it. Both the ribeye taco and the chorizo Chile relleno taco were huge and made a great mess trying to eat. Pura calidad!

Came on a Friday to try their Sonoran style tacos with flour tortillas. The tortilla itself is really delicious, highly recommend coming to try them. The carne asada was good and the birria was my favorite, it had the most flavor. Skip the chorizo. We tried a taco with the added cheese and beans, but I honestly think it doesn’t need the extra toppings. I like the meat to shine!

Rejoice because the days of donning neutral gang color to venture down to Boyles  Heights for their famous tacos are behind us!

A new location has emerged today in Silverlake with the same great Sonora- style Mexican cuisine found at their LA and Boyle Heights locations.

They are famous for their award winning handmade flour tortillas and their mesquite grilled meats.  The sobaquera (burrito) was good but I recommend the carne asada,  birria, and chili colorado TACOS with burnt cheese and beans.  Top it off with a squeeze of lime,  their green guac sauce and a hint of their super spicy red sauce for the best synergistic taste.  Disfruta!

Logistics:  there is limited covered seating.  Opened 11am to 9pm, later on the weekends.  Price:  tacos around $3 and are bigger than normal street tacos,  and burritos around $12.  Metered parking on Sunset and free parking in Descanso with street cleaning one day a week (read the signs for details).

Had the asada and Chile Colorado. So good. Lots of seating, nearby parking. I had two tacos. Next time I’ll get three. I loved the pickled onions and how the cheese is melted almost caramelized. Great service.
