We had a stellar meal here. Bustling and very LA, right on Abbot/Kenny. The food was EXTREMELY good. My favorite dish was (surprisingly) the squash flower pizza. The saffron spaghetti and duck were also highlights. Everything we ordered (mushrooms, eggplant, salad) was good, no duds. I came with two friends, made a same-day reservation, and got a great table right in the window. Friendly, attentive service. The waiter was knowledgeable about wines and talked me out of an experimental order, which i appreciated. Classic.

We came to Gjelina after it was recommended to us by a local. We were able to easily make a reservation on open table, and there were not lots of people early on a Sunday, but it gets really packed, so you should make a reservation. We came for breakfast. The coffee was nothing to rave about but the food was DELICIOUS!! We got the season fruit platter which was so refreshing, the omelette, the Moroccan baked eggs and the and the lemon buckwheat ricotta blueberry pancakes. The eggs were like shakshuka, and the whole dish was absolutely delicious. The sauce was so yummy!! The omelette was a nice light option and the pancakes were not too sweet, just the perfect amount. The restaurant was very clean and nice and the service wasn’t exceptional but it was good. I would come back for dinner or lunch and highly recommend!!

Location is in the middle of the very popular main boutique shopping street in Venice. Paid parking nearby. Restaurant is on the corner, no sign. Maybe they have good drinks here, otherwise there are many better options  nearby. Service, food, and a trashy ambiance all leave you wanting.

This is probably the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in LA. They don’t even serve a cup of hot water. Then they took away the whole bottle of iced water after telling me the hot water costs $1.

I ordered the steak (cost of $100usd) and oyster mushrooms and salad. I could say it just so-so and simply didn’t worth it.

The pizza was immaculate. Very unique toppings, but my friends and I enjoyed them all. The service was not so good, when trying to inquire more about the pizza toppings the waitress literally froze and couldn’t tell me anything helpful to make my decision on what to order. In fact she said she doesn’t eat pizza… at a pizza spot.
