My husband is really into astronomy, so he was eager to visit the Griffith Observatory when we were in LA. My daughter and I, however, weren't as enthusiastic and only went because we were persuaded to. We took the Metro and then walked up to the top of the Observatory. It's a lovely paved path with a playground near the base, so make sure to bring good walking shoes and water. There’s a little shortcut we took that was lots of fun. At the top, I was captivated by the stunning views—you can see the Hollywood sign and much more. The Observatory offers free admission, so it was incredibly busy. I suggest getting there early to avoid the crowds, or later to enjoy the sunset. Once inside, there are plenty of things to do and see. We watched a show and checked out the massive telescope. In the evenings from 7-10pm, you can observe different stars or planets for free! Although my husband wanted to stay, we didn’t get a chance to do that. There's also a café that offers self-serve hot and cold food, along with a variety of drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. In the end, I'm glad my husband insisted we visit this iconic landmark!
