Ordered a variety of dishes, all medium spice and although they were extremely spicy for me, they were all delicious. Ordered the pork jerky, Thai boat noodle soup, Tom Yum noodle soup and the dry Tom Yum. We ordered their  mango with sticky rice and it was one of the best we’ve ever tried, and we’ve tried quite a few in and around LA. Highly recommend their Thai tea and their longan juice, very refreshing!

A small, but super busy restaurant with great food and friendly customer service. Will be back!

Mae Malai is my friend, and I favorite during our vacation in CA. We are from NYC and believe it or not, my friend comes to eat here almost every day. Real taste of Thai food is the most of our concern. It is good that this restaurant is in a mall, and we have a parking area but if this place didn't have parking space, I think ppl still going to eat at this place. Very nice and warm welcome from the owner. She is super friendly and know how to handle everything professionally. We were blessed, to get a table before a lot of customers. While we were eating, I saw long line and I think this restaurant must be do very good job to have visitor and local to always eat here. If you come to Thai Town in LA, you must try Real Thai Food taste at Mae Malai!

The BEST Boat noodles I ever had. And I eat them all over. The broth, the protein and flavor is a solid 10 all around. I don't have a single complaint about this bowl of heaven.

I’ve been come to her since she was selling out of the night market at Silom market down the street. I’m just so glad she in a brick and mortar and I can pop in anytime. And yes, she has definitely gotten very popular in the last few years, which is great for her and the business because she deserve it and honestly the wait time wasn’t terrible. We were there on Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock and got seated within 10-15 minutes. I’m not sure why her signature Boat Thai noodle is not an option  for what to recommend, but that is to go to if you must try this place. Something about her bro is just super flavorful and rich. I’ve only wished I could live closer to have it every day!

This restaurant is by far the best Thai restaurant I have eaten in LA. I ordered the pork jerky and the original Thai boat noodle with beef with medium spicy.

The soup is flavorful, with a beef broth base I believe, salted just right and with just the right amount of sweet and acidity to balance the soup. Noodles were great with a slight bit of chewiness so that it has enough texture but not too much so that it is tough to break. Perfect. The beef in it included beef, beef stomach, and i think a part of the liver(not sure).

The best part of the pork jerky dish was the sauce. It is also balanced perfectly with just the right amount of flavors and a hint of spicy. The pork is marinated so it has a decent amount of flavor even without the sauce. The only problem I might say about this dish is that some of them are either a little overcooked or dry. But overall still really good.

Not gonna comment on atmosphere because it has a cheap price and the main focus is on the food.

Service was fantastic, didn’t have to ask for anything other than the check, my water was never empty, didn’t run out of napkins, and did random checks on how I’m doing.
