Food was pretty good but the bright overhead lights were miserable. Truly if they dimmed them this place would be 3x more vibey. We made a reservation on a Thursday night and still had to wait 15-20 minutes for them to actually seat us because they’d given the table up. Overall it was good, but considering it was pretty expensive and it felt like sitting in a cafeteria I’m not in a rush to return.

Simply amazing! The best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had… not to mention the lobster roll and quinoa salad. It’s always nice to come back when I’m in LA, highly recommended

This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in LA with some of the best and most friendly staff/service -- really sad they're closing in October :(

Notably, THERE'S NO LONGER A SERVICE CHARGE that other reviewers complained about.

Highlights: lobster roll (best I've had in LA); shrimp toast; Nashville hot fried chicken sandwich (better than the regular one); pimento cheese fries; bourbon crunch ice cream (amazing)

Food and drinks were fantastic 5/5.
The service was a little bizarre for me, it was not particularly busy and we were the only people sitting on the patio (very sparse seating out but good for dogs if you’re planning to bring yours). The wait staff confused our order at least 3 times, at some point I ate something that they brought out instead of what I had actually ordered because they were so confused.

They also never offered our dog water.

Eventually they apologized and took one item off the receipt ($13 small lobster roll) but the bill was still a little over $160 just for a dozen oysters , two drinks and an entree & side.

They also include the 18% gratuity which may be why the waitstaff are a little careless with their service.

What a pity because the oysters are actually delicious.
Overall would have expected way better service and portions for the price paid.

It's amazing this place still has a rating above 4 considering every other review complains about the 18% service charge that is in fact a tip no matter what anybody says.  if you really consider what the purpose of a tip in modern sense serve. The fact that they imply that you should still give on top of that is the problem. Anything on top of that should only be for going above and beyond.

If you can't afford to to keep your restaurant open with the stated menu prices, then maybe close. Or adjust your prices to properly account for your expenses.

You are already way past reasonably priced even before the 18%.  You charge $10 just for fries. A service fee is oxymoronic.

This place is known for their lobster roll and chicken sandwich. I ordered the shrimp toast and the hot chicken sandwich.

The toast was the better of the two by far, albeit a tad greasy and too small. The hot chicken sandwich was just like every other hot chicken sandwich served at a place that does not specialize in hot chicken. Which is to say Subpar. I should have known better. It was doused in more oil than flavor or heat.

The cocktail I had with my meal was the best part.

No need to return.
