We checked-in at The Garland Hotel when our family went to Universal Studios The hotel provides an hourly trolley to and from Universal. The Garland hotel is such a warm, cozy place and I loved the ambience. It felt like a resort with its unique character than a hotel. Rooms were at par with other good hotels, staff are friendly, helpful and the assistant manager, Angel was kind and welcoming.  My family had a wonderful experience. There is a restaurant at location called the Frontyard. It has a patio and indoor dining.  Food was delicious and the interior is nice.

Relaxing, authentic, cute boutique hotel. The vibe is lively and carefree. Love the decor, restaurant, and pool. We dined here a few times before staying at the hotel and chose to stay based on our previous dinners here. It’s a wonderful stay with girlfriends or kids. The staff really makes you feel taken care of. There’s plenty to do if you prefer to stay in and it’s close to so many other options for shopping and dining if you want to leave and explore.

Our stay wasn't all that I wanted it to be. We checked in for a 4 night stay and unpacked everything. In the middle of the night our neighbors baby started scream crying. It continued on and off until the next morning when we left the room for the day. Needless to say my husband and myself got little sleep. When I spoke to the front desk, I was sheepish at first because I knew it wasn't intentional ( noisy neighbors) but it was taking from our long planned long awaited vacation. The woman at the front desk was like, welp, so sorry, this is a family hotel. That attitude rubbed me wrong and I got upset. They offered to move us to a different room, but she had to throw on...no guarantee you will have quiet neighbors since this is a family hotel. I heard that sentence at least 3 times. In the end we chose not to pack everything up and move, as the neighbors were set to check out the following day. I am/was sympathetic to their situation as they had a sick baby, but I am disappointed in how the  front desk was dismissive to our plight.  Our room was more than 350 (parking /taxes, etc) a night and we stayed 4 nights. I expected better.... I expected more. However, the pool and lights are gorgeous, the place is a real gem for the eyes. The restaurant is wonderful, the atmosphere is everything.

Not being familiar with the area and being our first time to LA we were very reliant on reviews, online presence, and reputation.  Everything we read was accurate! The property is very well maintained, the rooms are very clean, the pool nice, and the available transportation was precise.  The staff were so friendly. It’s family friendly and a wonderful experience.

This is a charming place with an extremely friendly staff. The grounds are lovely and the on site restaurant was nice. They offer a shuttle to Universal Studios and City Walk. Most (if not all) rooms have balconies. The hotel is close to the hwy and is a bit more noisy, but it made getting around easier. I would stay again.
