We stayed at the Post Ranch inn for our intimate elopement ceremony and honeymoon celebration and it was magical from end to end! From waking up to rainbow sunrises (we had an ocean view room) to the peaceful infinity view hot tubs to nature hikes in the redwoods, this was such a special experience.  Special thank you to Derek L. and the events team for coordinating a perfect elopement ceremony for the 2 of us too!  Derek was super helpful via email to coordinate all the details before our trip (including some weather related adjustments) and it all went off without a hitch!  We will treasure our memories from PRI and the spectacular wedding photos in the redwoods too ❤️

P.S. Although some of the lunch/dinner food ranges from decent to good, the breakfast here is one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had, and I’ve stayed at 5 star hotels from around the world. Don’t miss the omelets and homemade strawberry jam! So delicious!

Having traveled to many unique resort destinations, I cannot say enough about our recent stay at the Post Ranch Inn!  ...a truly unforgettable stay at a unique "5 star" resort.  Not only was the facilities and surroundings magnificently beautiful, but the staff and service was unmatched!... seamless, unassuming and gracious!
Kudos to Tim Lee, the general Manager who could not have been more accommodating and caring during our stay!  ... we will be back!

Post Ranch Inn - A Disappointing Experience

On November 13 and 14, my wife and I stayed at the Post Ranch Inn as part of an anniversary trip. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of the expectations one would have for a hotel of this category and price.

Upon arrival, we discovered that the assigned room did not have the ocean view we had specifically requested. When we asked for a change, the front desk offered us a different room with an ocean view for an additional $750, which we reluctantly accepted given the circumstances. The new room, while offering a view of the ocean, was surprisingly basic considering the price we were paying.

The next night, things went from bad to worse. Shortly after midnight, a power outage caused the thermostat to continuously turn on and off, producing an annoying noise that kept us from sleeping at all. When I tried to call for assistance, I discovered that the phone was not working, as it was also affected by the outage. To make matters worse, the power cut also disrupted the water supply, leaving the sink, shower, and toilet completely unusable. This created an extremely uncomfortable situation, as I had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night without being able to flush, leaving the room with an unpleasant smell.

Unable to sleep or use our room, we decided to leave and head to the main restaurant. To our surprise, we were informed that no breakfast would be served, only coffee and pastries. Additionally, the hotel’s other facilities, such as the spa and gym, were also out of service due to the power outage.

Frustrated, we decided to check out early. This process was chaotic as well, as the lack of electricity further complicated the procedure.

We understand that power outages and other incidents can sometimes be beyond the hotel’s control. However, for a place that charges $2,000 per night, we expected it to have a backup generator or contingency plan to handle such situations.

In summary, we couldn’t sleep, we couldn’t use the facilities, we couldn’t have breakfast, and we ended up in a room we didn’t initially want. When we requested compensation through our travel agent, the hotel’s response was simply that these were “uncontrollable situations.”

For all these reasons, I do not recommend staying at the Post Ranch Inn. There are far better options in the area with superior service and more reasonable prices, such as the hotel across the street.

In my opinion, the services and facilities at the Post Ranch Inn do not justify its exorbitant cost.

This place is absolutely incredible. Has to be the nicest resorts in the US. So peaceful and quiet. The cottages are amazing. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and the service was phenomenal. I had a few issues with the restaurant but they were quickly resolved in an extremely professional manner. The only downside to going to PRI is when you leave, the outside world seems so loud and chaotic compared to the tranquility you experience there. Thanks Post Ranch Inn! PS: sign up for the Falconry with Antonio. You won’t be disappointed.

The best vacation experience ever. My wife and I just went here on our honeymoon and despite the high price to stay here, it is 100% worth it. The experience, care, and courtesy you are treated with by each and every staff member is second to none.
