This hotel is great. The staff is friendly, the maintenance is quick to resolve issues, and the location is pretty good. The ONLY complaint that I have is they went cheap when they remodeled the hotel after it was changed from Hotel Vitale. The sound proofing is almost non existent as you can hear every noise from the Embarcadero below. Cars with loud music can be heard as if you are sitting in the car yourself, and loud motorcycles sound as if they are riding through the rooms. And the people of this area do not care about you or the noise they are making regardless of what time of the day it is.  Other than that somewhat moderate/serious issue, the hotel is great.

Truly a different type of hotel stay. Service was absolutely exceptional and attention to detail was meticulous. Impossible to enter or exit without having the front door held. Greeted with a smile every time I entered the lobby. Restaurant service was prompt & professional.

Amenities are great - we made frequent use of the available e-bikes as well as the free hotel shuttle service. I was also continually impressed by the hotel’s thoughtful, artful, and even outright playful design touches. Hidden reading lamps tucked into the headboard, hourglass timer in the shower discouraging water waste, recyclable wooden room keys, and even beekeeping on the property’s roof. Most of the time when a business touts sustainability it feels gimmicky - not at 1 Hotel.

Finally, truly could not ask for a better location. Walking distance to MoMa, Pier39, and great restaurants. Will definitely be back soon.

Truly shocked this place does not have 5 stars. Stayed here for a week for a company summit and we all ravved/loved our experience.
Incredible staff, incredible valet, incredible front desk/booking, everyone was great.

Also, perfect location if you work near the Mission.

This is my new go to work hotel and even personal hotel.

Early Jan2025  Spent the tail-end of our long vacation with a stay at this hotel that used to be Hotel Vitale.

We had first heard about this chain which has a sister hotel in Toronto which we had visited a month before while travelling in Canada.

With eco-sustainability in mind, 1 Hotel has the best intentions but needs a lot of improvements in terms of execution.

Most of the eco styling is done in the look and feel with a lot of "green" touches in the decorative touches of the interiors while no particular innovative aspects were directly impacting the design of the rooms or its components.

The reusable water fountains in each floor is a good idea but the mechanisms are clunky and the glass vases are not sanitary due to the lack of a proper seal or cover.

These well intended ideas needed a more thoughtful deliberation to make sure that the quality and standards of the stay are not compromised.

Another issue we encountered was our main lamp which had a design flaw in the weight and wiring and had to be replaced on our first night in.

Other fixtures like light switches and outlets seem to be poorly positioned as well making them difficult to use.

Sherts and toiletries though were of good quality.

Service staff were helpful and quite friendly.

All in all, the ideal of the hotel is great but not sure whether the idea of luxury is consistently aligned with the execution of the operations.

We'd also recommend checking out the amenity benefits which are included in your stay.  One we got to try was the free 2 mi car service which could also be better in terms of distance allowance or other flexible options.

Great hotel, especially the restaurant and common areas. Breakfast was delicious and the hotel is in a great location. Room was very nice but the “waterfront” room was not quite waterfront. Not much of a view.
