Amazing food! Loved the new truffle shrimp egg rolls, plus the classics like the soup dumplings XLB and twists like Tom Yum. Very friendly staff, willing to help and make suggestions. Love that you can see them making the dumplings too! Got both take out and dine in and both were delicious

The xi’an dumplings were the best. The wagyu gyoza did not have any taste of wagyu and the chicken gyoza was honestly better. The lamb dumpling comes with only 4 pieces and was alright. The service was prompt and fastidious. However, the food was not at the level I expected. They need to add more options for soup dumplings as well. All the ciao ling bao are only pork options.

The biggest selling point of this place is that it is the closest Chinese restaurant to the Chase Center. The food itself is good, but the portions are small and the price is expensive for how little you get. So although this restaurant’s menu seems like a dimsum menu, it is very expensive compared to actual dimsum.

Still, I was surprised how much I liked their shrimp toast. It was very tasty. Their Xiao long Baos are also solid and I liked their spring rolls. I wanted to try their jumbo Xiao long bao (called King dum) but they ran out sadly. Hopefully I can try one next time.

Extra surcharges: They also charge a 5% SF Health Mandate Surcharge, which comes before tax (so you also get taxed on this amount in the bill). We ordered $30 worth of food so our SF Health Mandate Surcharge was $1.50.

The service was good. We got seated quickly and I didn’t feel like we waited too long for our food.

We sat in their enclosed outdoor seating area (which is covered by a tent roof). The area felt modern and clean but still had Chinese accents (like the rattan chairs).

Parking: It’s hard to find parking around the Chase center. We used SpotHero to get a valet parking garage nearby

I’ve loved this place for a long time, but quality has definitely declined in the last couple years. Hope they fix it soon. Some examples. Overall, prices are good though and atmosphere is good.

I just had to shout out Hunter, the server at Dumpling Time. He was absolutely amazing! So friendly, super down-to-earth, and made our whole experience way more fun. He really went above and beyond, and honestly, he made our meal even better. The food was incredible too, and we were bummed we didn’t have more time in San Fran to go back. Huge thanks to Hunter for making our visit so memorable!
