Had the puerco with salsa verde. Salsa had a nice taste, and the rice was flavorful. The two tortillas that came with my food were a good size and seemed handmade to me. Service was very fast/refilled water quickly. Had a good time

Came because of the glowing review it got in New York Times.

I wonder if the places got mixed up on the review, because we found the food to be completely uninspired.

The chicken hard tacos were really just taquitos and the chicken inside was as dry as a camels hoof. Everything else was the same generic sides you would get at your local “pancho villa” Mexican restaurant or any generic equivalent.

The Milanesa was good, but how can you make fried, breaded steak not tasty?

Besides that the veggie taco was a sad mix of friend, mushy veggies that wouldn’t make cat food envious

Maybe our expectations were too high but we couldn’t reconcile the reviews with the food.

One of the tastiest and most solid neighborhood staples, Hanzel and his family and team consistently deliver delicious down-home cuisine with great service and atmosphere.

Chili relleno, tacos dorados, pork rib with green sauce and pozole. Got an order of nopales with chips. Sauce on all the entrees tasted good. The pozole also tasted fine. Disappointed by the chili relleno inside. The cheese inside were chunks that weren't melted. I wasn't sure if maybe that's how they make it here?

Cocktails are on point and I always have fun. Trying a new one each visit. The food has been consistent every time. My favorite so far has been the guacamole and chips, sopes de Carnitas and the fish tacos. My Son tried the Milanesa and that was also phenomenal.
I included a couple of photos that I shared on my social media as I really do love this place. Definitely worth a try. Family owned and not overrated as other places that I prefer not to mention lol
