Planned our company offsite and choose Hotel Emblem to host our employees. The rooms were clean, cozy, and had unique amenities (option for yoga mat, type writer, sound machine). The planning staff were really great and easy to work with. The price was completely reasonable - I’d almost consider this a steal.
The quotes on the carpet in the hallway were inspiring. The lobby was also cozy and a nice place the team could have gathered. Many of us worked from the lobby in the early morning.

10/10 recommend.

Couldn’t recommend this hotel more. Stayed in 4 hotels whilst in SF and this was the mid-point price wise but by far and away the nicest. Rooms are a good size, great amenities and feel lighter and much more modern than all other hotels I stayed at. Staff were extremely accommodating and it’s an excellent location.

From the moment we stepped into this boutique gem in the heart of Union Square, we were transported into a sophisticated world that perfectly captures San Francisco's creative spirit.

The Beat Generation-inspired decor creates an intellectual yet playful atmosphere, with thoughtful literary touches throughout - from the typewriter in the lobby to the carefully curated in-room libraries. Our room was a perfect blend of style and comfort, with plush bedding, artful lighting, and those charming bay windows that just feel so quintessentially San Francisco.

The location is unbeatable - you're steps away from the best of everything. We walked to great restaurants in nearby neighborhoods, shopped at Union Square, and easily hopped on a cable car to explore further afield. The staff were exceptional - knowledgeable about the city and always ready with personalized recommendations that led us to some wonderful hidden gems.

The Obscenity Bar & Lounge deserves special mention - it's not just a hotel bar, but a destination in itself. The craft cocktails and intimate atmosphere made it our favorite spot to unwind after exploring the city.

What really sets Hotel Emblem apart is its perfect balance of luxury and personality. It's sophisticated without being stuffy, creative without being pretentious, and centrally located while still feeling like a peaceful retreat.

Really lovely hotel with a great location. Friendly staff and complimentary sangria upon check in. Room had black out shades, super comfortable bed, plenty of space for two of us to walk around and store our items. Water bottle refill station was near elevator.

"4 star" because they write cute stuff on the walls & charge for what other hotels give you for free. That seems to be what 4 Star hotels do; spend a little extra at the "Cool stuff corporate warehouse" & then charge you more.

How about don't buy stupid pillows that say "Pot is Fun" & you wouldn't have $9 water in the room... it could be complimentary. The water stations are tap water in an old building, I know those stations, that filter needs to be changed regularly...bet they aren't.

The location is nice, but rennovated to a price point, not perfection. The problems are easily avoided with quality from the start, not band-aids along the way.

Most of the doors don't go all the way to the floor, so enjoy hearing your neighbors' conversations & everything that happens in the hallway. A simple rubber strip knocks down a lot of the noise.

The place is summed up by describing one of the towel racks; it looks sturdy & industrial but is cheap & hollow with quotes written on the wall & ceiling around it to distract from the shody quality.

They'll send you up a typewriter... that's convenient. 🙄 How about a fridge in the room?

Golden Gate Hotel is around the block. Go there. It's cheaper, has free coffee in the lobby all day, free breakfast, AND has a cat that will stay with you if she likes you.

Why did I even bother with this place?

The hotel itself is fine. The "give as little, take as much as possible" style of "service" is my main issue.

4 star used to charge more because you got more or better services for your money. I got less service for more cost than a 2 star on the same block.

How does that make sense?
