I always list out pros and cons beyond just giving my overall comment. My overall take: This is a newer hotel in downtown SF with spacious rooms and reasonably good service. However, a few issues would keep me from returning to this specific hotel in the future.

Pros:
Prime location – Conveniently situated in downtown SF.
Room size – Spacious compared to many hotels in the area.
Cleanliness – The rooms and common areas were well-maintained.
Politeness of staff – The front desk and other staff members were courteous.
Cons:
Service Issues:
At check-in, I specifically requested a quiet room and was assured I had been given one. However, after unpacking, I realized my room faced a busy street with significant traffic noise. Meanwhile, a coworker who checked in later was assigned a room on the quieter side of the hotel. This made me wonder if the front desk staff actually attempted to accommodate my request or just said they did.
I called the front desk around 9:30 PM requesting an extra shower cap and was told it would be sent to my room right away. I waited… and waited. It didn’t arrive until after 11:30 PM. If housekeeping was truly that busy, I would have preferred to be informed rather than being left waiting for nothing.
Room Comfort:
While the room itself looked new and very clean, the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The mattress had absolutely no support. I generally have a high tolerance for different types of mattresses, but this one completely reset my baseline for what “uncomfortable” means.

Had a fantastic experience at the Hyatt! Charity at the front desk was incredibly friendly and made check-in smooth and welcoming. I really appreciated the thoughtful call to my room shortly after to ensure everything was okay. That extra touch made all the difference—thank you! Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

I had a great stay at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SOMA! Estafhani at check-in was fantastic - friendly, professional, and made the process seamless. The rooms are excellent, featuring modern upgrades that enhance both comfort and style.

The only drawback was the late-night front desk experience, as the associate wasn’t very helpful. Aside from that, the hotel offers a great location, stylish atmosphere, and top-notch amenities. Would definitely stay again!

In the heart of SOMA. Great value for a short business trip. Rooms were clean and daily housekeeping was efficient. They have a nice little mini mart downstairs in the lobby for essentials like water, juice and snacks. I didn’t try the restaurant on property so can’t comment on that. I had a wonderful

I stayed here for work, the service from valet, front receptionist and house keeping was amazing. The only complaint I have is about the sewer smell coming from the shower, it was only present while the shower was running and it would come/go. The hotel is in a great location and everything is in walking distance. William from the breakfast staff gave exceptional service. He was super friendly and very attentive when I was there! Thank you William!
