Quaint rooms with comfy beds and the daily breakfast and happy hour are very nice touches. BUT as other reviewers noted, the walls might as well be made of paper. You will absolutely hear everything, like your neighbors walking around or using the bathroom…

This is our second time staying at the Petite Auberge. We love this small, quaint, quiet and charming hotel. Reminds me of our stays in Paris. If you're looking for a boxy boring room like the Marriott or Hyatt, this is not the one for you. It's cozy, the staff is friendly, and the location is perfect. We also loved the living room vibe of the lower level where coffee is available all day, plenty of room for conversation with friends on the sofas, and wine is served in the evening. When we return to SF, we'll be checking in to the Petite Auberge again. Thanks for such a wonderful experience.

Hotel & vibe: Looks like an artwork. The common area downstairs is beautiful too with a fireplace & outdoor garden.
Amenities: Free bottled water, soda, coffee all day long. Bathroom was well stocked too. Free breakfast and evening wine was amazing. Do take some time to spend & chill at the hotel.
Location: Great, just a few min walk from union square. There are restaurants around too.
Room: Cute! A little small than what it looks like on the photos though. Could use a little more lighting, but bathroom was well lit. Since it was winter when we visited, just keeping the window open helped for ventilation. The fireplace provided enough warmth. There were a couple torn towels, but everything was clean.
Service: We didn't have any special requests. They were happy to store our luggage before checkin and after checkout.  White swan staff service was amazing.

With a complimentary happy hour, an open fire, and a hot shower, Petite Auberge offers it all. The friendly staff and included breakfast makes the stay enjoyable, whether for one night or more.

Rooms are clean, good pillows and mattress however the noise isolation is just nonexistent. You don’t be able to sleep from about 7 am, I was woken up every day by multiple noises from neighbours walking , talking, banging doors , cleaning and ect WITH EARPLUGS. I wouldn’t imagine staying here without earplugs, noise cancelling headphones and jetlag ( since waking up before 7 am happens naturally then).
