When in SF a must visit. The crabs are fresh and well prepared. I recommend the garlic noodles , garlic peppercorn crab, garlic butter crab and curry crab.  Be prepared to get your hands dirty to get every bit of crab meat out. You get a bib to keep your clothes clean.
This is a great place for a large groups. They have two floors.
John the owner is very friendly and staff attentive.

Haven’t been to ppq in years, my friend that was visiting from out of town was craving crabs and ppq was the first place I thought of. They price it reasonable for fresh live crab. We had garlic steamed crab, the garlic noodle and beef cube everything was to perfection. The owner was very kind to seat us fast when I told him we had to make an airport run soon. Thank you ppq!

One word to describe this experience: impeccable. I mean it when I say the service, freshness, delivery of the food and quality were all impeccable. It was not what we expected. We were leaving Santa Rosa heading back to Palo Alto and decided to stop into this place, which has been on my list for ages. I wish I had visited earlier.

We arrived late afternoon on a Saturday. There was an ample amount of parking and thankfully the restaurant wasn't closed. We ordered the crab for two. It came with the garlic noodles, dungeness Crab, Papaya salad, egg rolls and the fried banana dessert. Not going to lie the table next to us ordered the Peppered Wings, it smelled fabulous and we asked for an order. It was crispy, juicy with a nice kick. I'm so glad we ordered it. The egg rolls were crunchy, piping hot and delicious. It was a good size portion as we could not finish the salad. The Dungeness Crab for 2 was a big size and we managed to clean it up with the garlic noodles given we were about to burst.

The server did an excellent job constantly refilling our drinks, emptying our bowl or crab shells and checking in on us. The service was wonderful and we are looking forward to returning in the future.

Food was good, location is also good, away from city center and much quieter but still accessible on Geary St in Richmond district. Took 1 ⭐️ off because it was very cold inside, colder than outside and it was a very nice sunny day for spring, even with our jackets on we were cold. We still wolfed down the crab 🦀 was scrumptious.
