I never make a reservation and I always get a quiet, comfortably stylish room. They are pet friendly and in the theater district, close to Union Square. Of all the hotels in SF, you will pay a reasonable price and get slightly more. The 38 bus stops close by. You get a free welcome drink. There is a small fridge. There is a liquor store across the street. A portion of your payment goes towards pet adoption. The huge, maple cookie bones are sure to make your furry friend feel welcome. The bed and numerous pillows are so comfortable. No street noise. Early check in is possible. Nice, art-inspired lounge to hang out in.

This place is totally amazing. I was first worried that the pictures were not gonna match the place. However,  it sure did.  The rooms are small but full of amenities. Soft, wonderful beds, in room coffee, fridge, safe, robes and free water with Pineapple logo.  I would have loved to purchase a robe, robes have a naked Pineapple 🍍,  so cute. They give free Pineapple cookies and coffee everyday, you can use a bike. So much to offer. Definitely coming back.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Stay Pineapple in downtown San Francisco, and it was an amazing experience! This charming boutique hotel is beautifully decorated, with adorable pineapple details sprinkled throughout, adding a cheerful and unique touch to the ambiance.

The staff especially Yesame (spelling maybe off) at Stay Pineapple were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The rooms were not only stylish but also well-appointed, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring the city.

The location couldn't be better! It's within walking distance to a variety of music venues, restaurants, and bars, making it perfect for anyone looking to experience the vibrant nightlife and culinary scene that San Francisco has to offer.

It was very affordable and fun. I stayed with my husband for 2 nights

Overall, Stay Pineapple is a fantastic choice for anyone visiting the city. With its combination of great service, lovely rooms, and a prime location, it truly stands out as a delightful place to stay. I can’t wait to return!

Disappointing Experience - Bait and Switch at Its Worst

I booked a Persona Queen Mobility Accessible room with a roll-in shower and communication features two weeks in advance, paying extra to ensure a comfortable stay. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was not given the room I had reserved. The front desk rep, Thomas, didn’t inform me about this issue during check-in, and I only discovered the mistake upon entering the room. The replacement room, Room 509, was non-accessible—a major inconvenience and disappointment.

Room 509 has its own set of problems:

Location: It’s right across from the elevator, so the constant noise from foot traffic was disruptive.
Design: The entryway is tight and cramped, making it difficult to maneuver luggage or keep the door propped open while settling in.
Cleanliness: The couch was dirty and stained, which was off-putting and made the space feel poorly maintained.
Parking was another issue. The hotel does not have a parking garage, offering only suggestions for nearby garages. Parking is self-serve in a neighborhood I didn’t feel safe walking through at night, adding stress to an already frustrating experience.

Overall, this stay was a case of bait and switch, and I felt misled by the hotel’s lack of transparency and service. For anyone expecting reliable accommodations—especially if you require an accessible room—be warned. I would never recommend this hotel or any of its franchises after this experience.

Great room with amazing amenities and coffee. Very central and within a walking distance to most attractions although this part of town is very hilly so you need to consider your options. The staff was very attentive and helpful. There is a small parking place next door that charges $50 per day so you can enjoy driving in and out for the same cost. I loved the cookies and pineapple water offered between 3:30pm to 6:30pm, I think. The hotel has a good feel to it with nice deco and layout!
