This spot is a must visit in SF! We walked over around 10am and were pleasantly surprised that there wasn’t a line up based on the reviews. We enjoyed multiple dishes and absolutely loved every bite. The staff are so so nice, and atmosphere is so chill and the food is incredible. They didn’t have any crab but we honestly didn’t mind since there are so many other options!

This is our favourite spot when visiting San Francisco!  Those guys are always energetic and friendly!!  Make sure you get there early and expect to lineup for an hour or so.  If you’re there when they open, get there 30-45 mins prior.  Everything is so tasty there.  Try everything they offer on the menu.  Everything is nicely put together.  If this is not the type of food for you, go there for the atmosphere and experience!

San Francisco institution, one of Anthony Bourdain recommended restaurants in the City.

Plenty of metered parking outside, relatively safe area but still be mindful of your belongings. Cash only, make sure you have cash. The line goes fast, we were the 15th when we arrived and took us about 50 minutes to get seated.

Definitely get Crab Back, crab and Sashimi. Fairly priced for San Francisco.

This was well worth the wait. We are from out of town and this had been on my bucket list for when we visited San Francisco. We arrived around 10:30 am and waited for approximately 1 hour in line. We ordered the clam chowder, oysters, Sicilian sashimi, and a dozen eggs. Everything was absolutely delicious. You definitely want to prepare ahead of time by making sure you have cash on a hand as they are cash only!

Swan oyster depot is the epitome of classic, genuine, San Francisco. Family owned and operated, this establishment welcomes patrons and embraces us as a part of the vibe and energy. Feels like home. The bar style seating makes it easy and fun to chat with other customers. Clam chowder and bread is a must, as are the oysters of course, (don’t skimp, get at least 6) and the sashimi special had me in another world. Unbelievably fresh. If you are unsure of what to get, the staff will make recs and ensure you have a wonderful experience. Don’t forget it’s cash only! Treat yourself to the freshest fish and service. I’ll be bringing my dad here next time! Thanks Sean Oyster Depot! Made my whole week. Still dreaming of the buttery consistency of the sashimi the next day. What a gift to our city!
