Not sure which was better—the food or the service. We loved everything on tasting menu and incredibly generous wine pairings.
The surprise winner to me was the squash soup, which is a dish I would’ve sworn I hated before dining here.
Everything was delicious—crab cake, ravioli, duck, the fish… Just perfect.

The chef/owner is the kindest, most down-to-earth man. He was incredibly patient while explaining the wines to us, and he happily struck up conversation with us about the little treasures in the neighborhood.

We can’t wait to return and try the menu during every season!

Definitely 5 stars.

We came to this place to celebrate my birthday. We made reservation one month earlier. Got a text message in the afternoon to confirm the reservation.

The dinner started from salad and bread. They are not in the tasting menu, but included. They were paired with sparkling wine.

Next one is the soup. It was paired with white wine. I liked the puff pastry very much.

Then the fish cake came with another white wine. This is the best dish of the whole dinner. The scallop is tender and fish cake itself is delicious.

Duck dumpling and tender breast is paired with red wine. The dumpling was crispy and breast was tender.

Main dish was roasted pork. It was a big pork with mushrooms and green beans. Mushrooms were so delicious. I personally didn’t really like the pork itself since I am the lamb lover. Of course it was paired with another red wine.

Dessert was coffee ice cream paired with dessert wine.

Since it is my birthday, I also got a special treat: a piece of cheesecake. Thanks chef John for the kindness. I am the cheesecake lover and really like it.

Overall experience is super. We got a very private table and excellent service from Jeffrey. It was a very special birthday dinner!

I love this place.  When I want a special experience out in the neighborhood, I choose The Richmond.  John, the owner/chef, puts together a wonderful menu, sparing no detail.

Remember to make your reservations before you go.  Then get ready to be treated like royalty.

We had the most amazing, cozy and intimate dinner for seven last night. It was everyone's first time there and we were all very impressed. John and team were very warm and welcoming. The pre-fixe dinner was delicious, and for almost every course, there wasn't a speck left on each plate. The wine list is impressive and John was very helpful in helping us choose a few bottles.  So excited we tried the place and everyone was talking about going back soon. Also I need to mention that the price point is insanely good for San Francisco. Go enjoy, there is no way you will be disappointed.

Valet av en 3-rätters eller en 5-rätters smakmeny gav många underbara alternativ. Vi valde 3 kursen med vinpar. Började med en gräddsoppa, komplimanger av kocken med ett härligt vitt vin. Vi hade kammusslor, korta revben och ett vegetariskt alternativ för purjolök och Brie en croute. Alla var väl kryddade, välsmakande och konstgjorda. Förrätter av ben - i griskött, kycklingkonfiter och anka fettucini var alla läckra. Efterrätter av äppelpaj och choklad och jordnötssmörkaka åtnjuts av alla. Varje vin var perfekt balanserat med rätter. Höjdpunkten är den personliga uppmärksamheten som kocken / ägaren ger. Restaurangen är liten så han går vid varje bord, beskriver varje vin och får dig att känna dig som om du är den enda beskyddaren. En helt fantastisk kväll.

Popped in här med några vänner som bor lokalt, och de sjöng ros av denna lilla plats - vi blev inte besvikna!

Vi hade alternativet tre kurs / $ 50 och maten var fantastisk. En trevlig överraskning var amuse bouche och förmågan att ha lite smakprov på ett vin innan man valde ett fullt glas. Kocken dyker upp och pratar med varje kurs och han är bra - älskar sin mat och sina kunder tydligt.

En sådan behandling att ha riktigt trevlig mat, klart gjort med kärlek och uppmärksamhet. . .

Kocken, Johh, hälsade oss vid dörren och visade oss till vårt bord. Hur Richmond fungerar är helt unikt: Kock John var inte bara kocken utan han är också din server. Han tog lite tid att chatta med oss, häll vårt vin och förklarade varje maträtt.

Atmosfären: liten och mysig, väldigt få bord, en bra idé att använda en stor lång röd gardin för att skilja vår matplats precis vid dörren. Det gav privatlivet men kände inte heller boxen i.

Personalen: detta är för annan personal och inte kocken, en av personalen tog ut vår aptitretare och gick bara bort. Även om presentationen var ganska vacker visste vi inte exakt vad det var. Kock John kom ut och vi berättade för honom, han bad om ursäkt och förklarade ingredienserna och hur det var tillagat. Han tog personligen ut varje maträtt efter det för oss. Personalen talade också högt på vietnamesiska att vi kunde höra deras konversationer (vi är vietnamesiska) i köket. Men de lugnade sig när fler kom in i restaurangen. Detta var det enda vi inte njöt av den natten.

 - Räksfritter i räkor Bisque serveras med morot - kål sallad och räkorchips
 - Rödvin Braised Short Rib & Maine Diver Scallop med krämig polenta

 - Braised Duck & Fettuccine i champinjon portvinssås och spenat
 - Seared New York biff med potatis hash & schweizisk chard

 - Apple Tart: Kanel Vaniljglass
 - Kaffe Semifreddo: kaffe glass, kaffe granit och mandel skört

Vår vän, en foodie från ner halvön bokade denna plats och vilken glädje. Kock John var allt från att ta order, rekommendera och servera vinet, att laga mat. Stor historia berättar om hans hektiska dagliga rutin. Serverar ingen nonsens och smaskig maträtt efter maträtten. Vi har bara tid för trerätters måltiden som vår bokning var sen på kvällen, men fem kursen låter definitivt bra och mycket rimligt prissatt (du kommer nog att behöva säkra en tidigare bokning för att avsluta allt). En liten sju bordsanläggning, men kockens ägare gjorde det klart att han kommer att rymma bokningar för sida vid sida bord så att maximera integritet, vilken bra tanke.

 Kvinna och jag kom hit för andra gången i år och vi var lika imponerade av mat, vin och service som första gången. Detta är en liten, intim restaurang som verkar drivas av ägaren som också verkar vara kocken och en kvinna, som han kallade sin systerdotter. Det finns gardiner för varje bord som ger utmärkt integritet. Richmond har två uppsättningar smakprov menyer - en tre-rätters middag med val av aptitretare, entree och dessert ($ 40, vinparing $ 35) och en fast fem kurs ($ 75, vinparing $ 45). Alla på samma bord måste ha antingen tre eller fem kursmenyerna. Vi valde de fem kursen eftersom det hade seared foie gras, min favorit. Vi hade också vinparing. Ägaren kom med gratis pinot grigio som var skarpa och torra och mycket tillfredsställande och en amuse de bouche potatis och purjolopp soppa som var ömtålig och läcker. Dessa följdes av ytterligare två aptitretare och förrätter som var otroligt läckra med underbara såser och blandningar av smaker. Totalt sett en annan härlig middagsupplevelse. Visst kommer tillbaka.

Godkänt med alla positiva recensioner i TA som återspeglar konsistensen av restaurangen. Vi hade en mysig kväll på Richmond med god mat, stort värde och varm service av ägare / kock John och hans personal. En grannskapsmärke är inte ett överdrag och vi kommer tillbaka.

Restaurangen är undangömt i det säkra, medelklassiga bostadsområdet i Richmond-distriktet i San Francisco. Vi kunde hitta på gatan parkering. Restaurangen är liten - sex bord, med rena dekorationer. Tabellerna är åtskilda av plush gardiner eftersom ägaren vill tilldela separat utrymme för varje tabell. Hälsningar av tjänande personalen var varma och ägaren John tillbringade tid vid varje bord för att få oss att känna oss välkomna. Hur han lyckades laga mat samtidigt är en kredit för sin långa erfarenhet (i samma grannskap).

Maten är modern amerikansk. Generös del. Kompetent utförd. Vi har haft alla våra aptitretare (kort revben med kammusslor, krabba tårta) och elnätet (fläskkotlett, NY stek). Menyn är antingen 3 kurser eller 5 kurser provsmakning. Ingen ala carte. Vi tog tre-rätters menyn (US $ 40) med vinparing (US $ 35) och tyckte att det var bra värde. Rekommenderad.

Det är sällsynt att hitta en intim ägare / kock kör restaurang med bra mat. Ännu mer sällsynt att hitta en restaurang som ger tyst ostörd middag. Richmond gör allt detta.

Ägaren / kocken och hans fru hjälper gärna till med din måltid, vin och kväll. Om du frågar kommer de att leverera och är glada att tillgodose enskilda gillar / ogillar.

Kvinnan tyckte att ägaren / kocken måste ha tränat i Frankrike men lärde sig att han var "självlärd" och aldrig hade varit i Frankrike. Kanske skulle Frankrike bjuda in honom att lära! Det som gör restaurangen ännu mer enastående är att även när alla sex bord var fyllda som de gjorde mot slutet av vår måltid, var det mycket lite buller och den skonsamma bakgrundsmusiken (mestadels oldies - till exempel Nat King Cole) bidrog till en tillfredsställande middag, liksom det vänliga och uppriktiga serverparet. Det bör också noteras att priset för pris och kvalitet för varje kurs är mer än rimligt, och vinparret är verkligen ett fynd! Detta kommer att bli en av våra favoritrestauranger för en lugn och tillfredsställande middag.

Richmond ligger mer i utkanten, så se till om du inte kör att du har tillgång till Uber - inga taxibilar i sikte. Denna lilla eleganta restaurang erbjuder endast en fast pris middag med valfri vinparing. Det fanns flera saker att välja mellan; starter, entree och dessert. Dessutom undra varma crusty bröd var serveras och en liten kopp läckra grädde purjolök soppa. Jag beställde sallad med pecannor, biff och äpple skarpa a la-läge till dessert och det var allt gott. De erbjuder en mycket rimlig vinlista med flera val under 35 dollar. Stämningen är tyst och perfekt för konversation. Räkningen för fyra kom till ca 190 dollar med en flaska vin. Tjänsten var utmärkt och ägaren är charmig och vänlig. Alla parter var nöjda med sin måltid.

Richmond är fantastiskt. Det förtjänar 6 stjärnor. Efter att ha haft Golden Gate Parks kultur och du vill gå någonstans lite mer klassisk. Där barnen i sina jeans och farfar i sin fina jacka känner sig alla bekväma. Det här är stället. Över den uppmärksamma servicen. En tre-rätters meny lämnar dig helt full. Fantastisk mat. Det var sex av oss och vi alla delade allt. Läckra roa bouche att börja. Aptitretare alla utsökta, men crepe gjord med kikärter mjöl är över toppen.

Mat och service på denna restaurang är mycket bra. Personalen är liten - endast 3 på natten vi var där, och kocken diskuterade personligen menyn och vin alternativ med oss.
Rummet kan delas med sammet gardiner, vilket skapade vårt eget privata utrymme i främre fönstret.
Om du gillar bullriga, öppna, se och se restauranger, så är det inte för dig.
Men perfekt för en speciell par kväll, eller att komma ihop med en grupp vänner.

För våra månatliga "Guys Night Out" valde vi Richmond och åtnjöt allt om upplevelsen. Kocken / ägaren är vänlig, kunnig och trevlig. Förrätter (anka, lax, fläsk) var väl förberedda och presenterade och generös i storlek och mycket rimligt prissatta för denna nivå av middagar i San Francisco. Öknar var utmärkta. Vi hade tagit vårt eget vin (Gevrey Chambertin, 2005) och hade en lång chatt om det med kocken (och lämnade honom lite att försöka!)

Vi kom med en grupp vänner och hade en stor måltid med 2 flaskor vin och 4 kurser med dessert. Jag var så full och lyckligtvis fyllde mig med det underbara franska brödet. All maten var stor, inklusive anbudet fois gras. Vi har varit här i tidigare år men det har varit länge sedan vårt senaste besök.

Kocken har ett litet lag och jobbar hårt men kom ofta ut för att chatta med sina kunder. En genuint vänlig kille. Han är skuren på reservplatserna och utrymmet ut ur tidsluckorna. Verkligen en fantastisk plats i detta lugna stadsdel. Parkering kan vara utmanande när du tävlar med boende för ett utrymme.

Richmond är original och kocken har en unik känsla för att komponera en måltid.
Vinlistan är imponerande och ändå prisvärd. Detta är sant en wonderfull resturant och det erbjuder en sällan funn autentisk upplevelse.
