This restaurant truly lives up to its name and the hype surrounding it. The garlic dishes are phenomenal, with the garlic chicken standing out as an absolute highlight. The portion was generous, and the flavor was spot on.

The interior is beautifully designed, creating a welcoming ambiance, and the staff were attentive and efficient, adding to the overall great experience.

I’ll definitely be coming back to explore more of their menu. If you love garlic, this spot is a must-try!

Service and food were pretty good. Super crowded the day we went, took over an hour to find parking and parking garages were full. The parts of our party that arrived first ordered for us, decor is super cute so wish I would have been able to enjoy it more

Garlic is my favorite flavor. Loved this restaurant. My family of 4 got a reservation online and had dinner here. Service was quick and efficient and the food was phenomenal. We got the bruschetta, shrimp&mussels, seafood linguini, but I got to say the 40 clove chicken is definitely a highlight.
Parking is a nightmare due to street parking.

This is probably the most interesting place for Italian food in town. First time to try their new location. I love the house white wine and sizzling seafood. Ciopino portion is medium and tastes good as well. Regret that I was stuffed and didn’t get to try garlic ice cream. I will come back next time. Great vibe in here. Love their new interior decor 😊

Bra mat, atmosfär och utmärkt Service. Värt resan till staden. Som en lokal, tenderar vi att förbise många platser som tillgodoser mestadels turister. Men det var en vacker dag och vi bestämde oss för att ge oss ut till North Beach och äta lunch på den berömda Stinking Rose och väl värt resan, trafik, etc. Prime Rib är ett måste. Gnoschipastan var också utmärkt. 

Lite dyrt men även med det var det ändå värt det.

The Stinking Rose ligger mellan SF:s historiska stadsdelar North Beach och Broadway och är en klassisk restaurang med unika bett som gör det bra att sammanfatta de eklektiska matinslagen i San Francisco. Även om det är rotat i Italienska mat, fusion element från hela världen plus lokalbefolkningens kärlek till Dungeness krabba är alla kopplade till den fantastiska matlagning element av vitlök (huvudstaden för vilken är bara 2 timmar bort i Gilroy, Kalifornien) . Den allmänna inredningen på platsen sammanfattas bäst som "kitchy kaos", men maten och Servicen är av en kvalitet långt bortom ögat - gripa atmosfären i denna heta matplats.

Jag har alltid velat prova den här restaurangen i North Beach och jag är glad att jag äntligen gjorde det! Jag älskar den roliga atmosfären som vi satt på övervåningen! Jag provade vitlök Alfredo som är en av signaturrätterna då de är kända för sin vitlök. Det var mycket bra! Man kunde verkligen smaka vitlöken utan att den blev för överväldigande! Rekommenderar definitivt!

Kom hit på middag på en lördag och det var packat. Platsen verkade mindre än första gången jag var här för ungefär 25 år sedan. Frun har aldrig varit här så vi bestämde oss för att försöka 

Hel krabba ( 3 . 5 / 5 ): Frun älskar krabba i allmänhet. Hon sa att det var färskt men för salt 

Fräsande vitlök ribeye ( 3 . 5/5 ) : det var bra. Jag beställde medium, men det var lite mer tillagat än så. 

Vitlökspotstickers ( 3/5 ) : trevligt chips, men fyllningen var bara genomsnittlig. 

Borden var små, så frugan hade svårt att njuta av sin krabba. Det slutade med att vi tog hem det mesta. Gatuparkering var nästan omöjligt att hitta, så vi parkerade i Chinatown garage och tog en 5 - 10 minuters promenad. Servicen var utmärkt. Två förrätter, en förrätt, skatt och topp kom ut till $ 165.

Servicen var otroligt dålig. Vi gjorde en reservation för 6: 30 pm, och satt inte förrän runt 7 : 00 pm. Vid ett tillfälle följde värden (av vilka det var två) oss upp till andra våningen, då han snabbt vände sig om och berättade för oss att det inte fanns plats och vi skulle behöva vänta längre. Inga problem - de har en bar där vi kunde vänta. Men när vi till slut satt ner var det omöjligt att få service. Vi var tvungna att be värden att vänligen se till att servern checkas in hos oss. Vi hade bett om vatten för tre gånger, och fick det först när vi hade pratat med värden. Därifrån checkade servern in ungefär var 3:e minut i 20 minuter - radiotystnad efter. Värdarna var vänliga - servrarna inte så mycket. Maten var otroligt genomsnittlig, absolut inget värt att vänta + 30 minuter (MED reservation). Det var kul att gå till en ”San Francisco Institution” - men annars? Slöseri med tid och pengar.

Lite bullrigt men du är i hjärtat av North Beach så mycket trafik och människor. Men vår pasta (ravioli och fettuccine och två smörgåsar kissar riktigt gott. Vi är varje tugga! Portionerna var en rimlig storlek för lunch. Vi vågade prova vitlöksglassen! Gost bettet var ganska vitlök - y men efter det var det helt enkelt utsökt. Prova!

Detta var vårt första besök på den nya platsen och Stinking Rose förblir en distinkt och trevlig upplevelse. Värd och servitris personal var välkomnande och tillmötesgående, och vår mat var utsökt. Som IPA-drickare uppskattade vi särskilt att ha Elysium Space Dust på utkast (inte bara Peroni och olika inhemska lager du vanligtvis hittar). Sammantaget var det ett bra besök som står sig väl i förhållande till den ursprungliga platsen.

Fantastisk mat. Stora portioner och mycket smakrik. Förvånansvärt nog vitlöksdessert! 
Gjorde inte en reservation även om för att undvika besvikelse skulle jag rekommendera.

60 besök under 30 år, första besöket sedan 2019, den är död, maten är dålig, stämningen är dålig, luktar inte vitlök, ingen kryddnejlika och bröd när man sitter och menyn krympte med 50 %.

Vi besökte The Stinking Rose i San Francisco baserat på en väns rekommendation, och det levde verkligen upp till hypen för vitlöksälskare. Maten var utsökt, servicen var utmärkt, och personalen var mer än glada att föreslå rätter för första gången besökare. Restaurangens livliga atmosfär och unika inredning bidrog också till upplevelsen. Det är definitivt ett måste att besöka när man är i San Francisco!

Frun och jag har varit här ett par gånger och vi är glada att äta middag under vår senaste resa till San Francisco. 
Vi tog linbanan till Chinatown och under vår promenad runt stan kom vi upp till Stinkande Rosen och bestämde oss för att stanna för lunch. Jag åt rostad vitlökskyckling och min fru åt peperonipizza. Vi var mindre än imponerad och besviken över vårt besök. Här är varför... 
 - de bytte plats till tvärs över gatan och vi kände att det hade förlorat sin atmosfär. 
 - Pizzan var god men inget speciellt 
 - vitlökskycklingen var knappt tillagad nog och de gav dig inte högen med rostade vitlöksklyftor till måltiden. Potatismos verkade ha för mycket olja... 
 - vi beställde också bröd men fick inte den rostade vitlöken att lägga ovanpå.

Maten var god, men smakade verkligen inte vitlök, förutom förrätten. 
Notera att vi ÄLSKAR vitlök. Vi äter på The Garlic i New Smyrna Beach, Florida ofta, och det är en 2 . 5 timmars bilresa. 
Bagna Calda-förrätten var basrullar med en kastrull vitlöksklyftor i olja. Vitlöken var utsökt. Den lätta tillsatsen av ansjovis ökade djupet. Brödet gjorde inte vitlöken rättvisa. Puglianskt, franskt eller annat knaprigt bröd hade framhävt rätten bättre. 
Vi valde båda pasta och de serverades så snabbt att vi kallade dem ”formeliska”. Jag valde Short Rib Ravioli med Tomatkräm Marinara. Short Rib köttet var gott, förmodligen det bästa jag ätit. De var stora raviolis och såsen var genomsnittlig. Min man åt fettuccine med vitlöksbrie & svamp. Han tyckte att det var okej. 
Personalen var bara intresserad av att stå nära dörren och prata med varandra. Inga skämt med gästerna, rekommendationer från deras meny eller andra lokala insikter. 
Måltiden var acceptabel, men vi skulle inte äta där igen.

Vänner hade berättat om The Stinking Rose som ett unikt och roligt ställe att äta på medan de var i San Francisco, och de hade verkligen rätt! Upptagen och bullrig med ett stort urval av italiensk mat - denna restaurang var den mest unika av alla platser vi åt på under vår resa förra veckan. Serveringspersonalen erbjöd bra rekommendationer, och maten var utmärkt ( 40 vitlöksklyftor kyckling, pasta med bolognese, pizza, etc) . Vitlöksglassen till efterrätt kan vara en förvärvad smak, tho, eftersom det inte var särskilt en favorit hos min fru. Men det betyder inte att du inte ska prova det!

Charmig italiensk restaurang som serverar mat som är tung i vitlök. Detta är platsen för vitlök älskare! Utmärkt betjäning.

Vi besökte restaurangen på måndag kväll, det var ganska upptaget vilket var trevligt. Vi hade gnocchi och ravioli, båda smakade som om de var från ett paket. Såserna på båda var genomsnittliga, jag skulle ha varit besviken om detta var en färdig måltid. Det är synd eftersom restaurangen var på ett bra läge och personalen var vänlig.
