Amazing place - I can’t think of another place where you only need to spend $15 per person and be so satisfied. Have the stew and you won’t regret it. Everything else is good too but the screw will have to be the center piece.
100% recommended!
Ps, the place is packed, come early or super late, or you’ll have to wait for 1 hr or so.

We went around 8pm and was lucky it wasn't overly busy. This place is cozy if not tight, but that's part of the charm. Many local places in Korea are like this, usually even smaller so this place has that vibe. We've been here before but I've never written a review, but this visit compelled me to share one in hopes that management might see it.

This place is, and can be good, there are some dishes that are good, but some (on our visit) were just not good at all and would never order it again.

Let's start with the bad.
Bulkogi -Was not good. Dry and bland, hardly any flavor, the stuff in the hot foods section at Kukje is far better (and it's not exactly great). No excuse for this, and I don't give any Korean restaurant slack for messing up a hallmark dish.

Cheese corn - If you like the idea of overly cooked canned corn (see pic) covered in a layer of melted cheese and nothing else as good, then my friend, you haven't had good cheese corn. Would never order this again.

The good/ok.

Kimchee fried rice was good, tangy as it should be, with a fried egg on top.

Kimchee pancake was ok/good. Nothing to write home about but we were hungry, it came out fast and was decent enough. Sister House in Hayward makes a good example, nice and lightly crispy on the outside, good kimchee taste.

Service was friendly. The place is tidy, they clean up your area and might even vacuum before they seat you. They are open late which is great for people who work late or had a night out, and are hungry again.

Son comes here and always orders the fried chicken and some other things so those are probably better. Read other reviews and find out what others order and recommend.

My friend and I ordered soft tofu stew, after eating, I feel like we can prefer one more dish!!!! Only stew was not enough:( But it was really really yummmmmmm

Very good value! Cute spot with village-like internal decor and lots of tasty options. The portions are very generous at a great price, which is a large part of the appeal. We especially enjoyed the rose ddukboki, a very creamy and rich dish that's distinct from any other ddukboki we've had before.

HOLY COW I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH!!! I have horrible spice tolerance so the spicyness destroyed me but it tasted amazing. The staff is very detailed. They would know what we wanted before we even asked. I love the service. Met this very nice staff called Alan. He made our experience very nice and joyful. It was loud and welcoming. The price very good. I’m definitely coming back.
