Came for brunch and had the patty melt, breakfast potatoes, and true brew cocktail. Definitely would get them all again! The patty melt was perfect and a deeply satisfying good classic burger. The potatoes are perfectly crispy (being cooked thrice) and savory with the crispy onions to accompany it. The True Blue is likely the best coffee cocktail we've ever had- great coffee flavor and not too sweet. Service was attentive and we sat outside on the nicely heated patio with our dog. I definitely want to come back again and try more of the cocktails because they all sound so good!

Went for brunch and had the melt and Silog (pork over rice). Both were great, but the stars of the show were definitely the cocktails!!! Out of the drinks that we tried, Mai oh mai and the brunch drink with coffee in it were amazing.

I've had True Laurel on my radar for awhile.  It is owned by Lazy Bear, the nearby 2 Star Michelin restaurant and was recently named #30 on the list of 2024 Top 50 Cocktail Bars in North America.  They have a weekend brunch so I gathered a bunch of my friends to meet up at True Laurel before going to MoMa to catch the last two weeks of the "Art of Noise" exhibit.

I tried the Melons Triple Lindy and Mai o Mai, which I felt had a nicer presentation with more complexity, seamless blending of balanced flavors than the signature Vodka y Soda and Green Mango Martini that I tried at the mega hyped Superbueno in NYC, #2 on the 2024 Top 50 bar list.  The Mai o Mai looks virtually clear but somehow has a milkiness to it.

The brunch menu crafted by the Lazy Bear team is excellent.  I ordered the Chicken Liver Mousse, which is served with rhubarb preserves with slivers of green strawberries and a few slices of perfectly toasted sourdough bread.  My friends ordered the TL Patty Melt, which looked picture perfect - the toast was golden atop a square egg and dry aged beef patty.  I got to try a bite which was a sudden burst of special flavor...I know what I'll be ordering next time.

The service was straight and to the point.  Courteous but not overly friendly.  The interior is industrial and modern but not inherently upscale.  It's in a safe part of town so you have the option to sit outside at the wooden picnic tables.

If you're looking for world class cocktails and brunch food with a Michelin pedigree, look no further than True Laurel, which exceeded my expectations.  I'm excited to try more of their excellent cocktails and dishes.  Until next time...

I’ve stopped by here twice while waiting for Tartine to open for dinner and have absolutely loved both visits. The first visit I tried their absolutely stunning cocktails, but second time around we were in the mood for something a bit simpler / lighter and had a beer and the bar nuts. I just absolutely must rave about the bar nuts - perhaps the simplest item on the menu but so complex and delicious. We brought them home for a midnight snack! The ambience is perfect outside and inside, and the servers were all super kind and friendly. I recommend this spot!

food is wonderful but they do not hold back on their use of fats and salt — everything is VERY heavy.

service gets lost in the sauce, unfortunately. atmosphere a little too trendy… not sure why every guest was wearing all black, but it was a little off putting.

beware: the automatic/non-negotiable 20% tip is already included in your bill. in my case, i did not think the service justified this mandatory service charge.

Mysigt cocktailfokuserat utlopp i Mission-distriktet. Huset cocktails var stora - socker snap Pea - casso var en höjdpunkt. De tenderade mot den söta sidan. Men bartenderna kan fixa dig vad du vill ha.

Maten var fantastisk! Du kan definitivt få en bra middag här om du vill.

Restaurangen öppnade den 22 december och mitt parti 4 försökte allt på den begränsade menyn förutom fonduen.

David Barzelay, en av ägarna till Lazy Bear, en före detta advokat blev restauratör när marknaden kraschade 2009, var där för sina gäster och förklarade varför han skapade detta koncept och de olika förrätterna. Namnet är likat med laurelbladet men det är inte nödvändigtvis en ingrediens som används i alla rätter. Vid tiden för vårt besök byggdes baren ut och hans vision var att få en prisfast meny med cocktails och mat. Liksom Lazy Bear, måste du köpa biljetter för att delta.

Nu på maten. Cocktailnamn var unika för True Laurel och jag måste erkänna att jag aldrig hade upplevt dessa drycker. Vänner hade topp Dawg, IPA-ölval medan jag hade Shaker-citronen som jag starkt rekommenderar.

Menyvalen var alla så olika men mycket attraktivt presenterade. Stekt kyckling var min personliga fav som var salladsduken och bakade potatisar. Romsoppa var en lättbuljong och rekommenderas också. Till dessert beställde vi de två efterrätterna som var Laurel glass och choklad chip cookie med mjölk. Smaka inte smak av laurelbladet och kakan var bra men vi hade en annan runda drycker och hoppade över mjölken.

Platsen är liten och parkering kommer att vara en utmaning så planera följaktligen och håll dig grupp till 4 i denna "bar som inställning" så att du kan dela och smaka.

Nicolas imponerade oss med sina komplexa och läckra cocktails. Fyra av oss försökte alla cocktails på menyn och vi hade alla en annan favorit. De ovanliga kornen i paradiset i PrataTat var skarpa. Blixten i en flaska låter skrämmande, men har bra smaker - ljus och skarp med rosa dam-äpplen. Jag bryr mig vanligtvis inte om tiki-drycker och blev positivt överraskad över att jag älskade Rum juvelerna. Min favorit är shaker citron omrörad som är vodka-baserad (jag brukar föredra whisky, scotch eller mezcal). Den omfattande listan av cocktailingredienser inkluderar klargjort gyllene betor, fermenterad shinko tonic, makrut blad, sesamvasket bourbon, regnvatten. . . .

Matmenyn är blygsam i storlek, men stor i smak. De råa ostronen med citrus var en perfekt starter och vi föredrog dem till de kokta. Vår favoriträtt är de friterade maitake-svamparna med lökdisplayet - som mycket liknar en maträtt, en lat björn. Vi var tvungna att beställa en andra! Vår andra favorit är ost och krabba fondue med grönsaker och rostat bröd. Bakad potatis var stor - ännu bättre när vi lagt till lite ostkrabba fondue! Chef de Cuisine Geoff är bra till en bra start!
