Called in an order on Sunday for an extra large aloha chicken pizza. Placing the order was easy. After getting the size of the pizza and the type of the pizza noted, the person who took my order told me that the order would be ready in about 30 minutes. The pizza was ready was ready as promised. The XL pizza was perfect for four adults. Amato really loads each pizza with tons of toppings which is a plus. Ours had ham, pineapple, chicken, onions, green onions. We thought the crust was breadier than other pizza places we've tried. It was delicious for us, but may not be for somebody who prefers thin crust. Parking is easy, easy and plentiful. It is shared with several other stores in a plaza.

Love this place! If you're Iranian, I 100% recommend Amato Pizza. Just go there, order a large Tehrooni pizza, close your eyes, take in the smell of the avishan, and you'll teleport straight to one of your sweetest memories in Tehran. I've also tried their other pizzas and the veggie calzone, they're just as good. Absolutely recommended!

Amato? More like VOMato. The giant flatscreen menus are useless since they don't list any prices. Instead, we shared one menu that was laying around (no others in sight). $30 for medium pizza? Maybe that's why they weren't posting prices. We got garlic bread, fries, a soda (convenient self-service) and a calzone. They over charged me 51 cents. When I pointed it out, the man seemed bothered and gave me the coins without saying a word. The garlic bread was simple but good, cheesy and buttery. However, the fries (served with ketchup packets on top) were so bad we left a quarter of them behind. They tasted like unsalted, day old microwaved fries with burnt tips. I looked around to see if Ashton Kutcher revived Punk'd and was videotaping us. The $16 calzone sprinkled with unmelted cheese was a joke. It was small and was 70% hard bread, with probably five pepperoni, four olives, three mushrooms, two turtle doves... Not much cheese and about a spoonful of sauce. I asked for some sauce and was handed a plastic cup of ice cold marinara. The brightly lit single room felt like a burger joint and it felt as Italian as Jackie Chan. If you look at my 2200+ reviews, you will see it's very rare for me to give a restaurant less than three stars...but this restaurant(?) was very disappointing.

Haven't got the pizza yet, ordering was a painful process. First time I called, I got hung up on.... called again and the person could not hear me because it was very loud in the background. Then I was asked to "hold-on" To top it off - her English was terrible. I've ordered from this restaurant ever since they have been in business. They say "support local" - it becomes difficult when you can't place an order without repeating yourself 3 or 4 times. Extremely frustrating. Crossing my fingers I get what I ordered, because I have no idea that what I said was translated well. We don't have many restaurants here in Almaden, but there's a reason... as a consumer one has choices.... Not sure Amato will be on the list for next time.

First, their pizza is tasty and fresh and overall just has a good flavor! Second, they have vegan cheese! They accommodated my group of about 40. They let us pre order so food would be ready when we arrived. The location is clean, and it's easy to get to. Just overall a very positive experience!

OMG, this is what the world needs. I work construction, two weeks ago I ordered a pizza at amato's in Almaden area. I ordered to go and went to visit a job site nearby. The homeowner had lots of questions and I had another appointment. Long story short. I never went back for the pizza I paid for. Today in the way to the same customer, the owner remembered and insisted that I did not pay for my pizza. Highly recommend this place. Local family owned amazing pizza and over all good people. A must if you want some amazing pizza and to support good hearted people!!!!

Tried calling Amato's Pizza three times to place an order. Each time, a lady picked up the phone and immediately put me on hold--no greeting, no update, nothing. I waited over 15 minutes each time and no one ever came back to take my order. Totally unprofessional and frustrating. If you can't handle phone orders, don't offer them. Definitely not ordering from here again.
