I made a reservation for Camry hybrid, but they had Chevrolet ready for pick up, and the car is really dirty, it was a horrible car that I have never seen for rental car, and bad customer service too

The most horrible rental reservation we have experienced. We have our reservation since Dec of 2023, for June 9,2024 pickup. When we got to the counter, the rep said, "Here at Eastridge location, we don't carry 12-seater vans, only 7-seaters. And told us to call AVIS customer care 1-800 number. So we did, the customer care representative said, "there's no van available because it's sold out". I told the rep, that we reserved it 6 months ago. She said, "I understand sir, but you haven't paid for your reservation yet." I said,"Yes, the reservation says "Reserve Now, Pay Later". So she then suggested that we go to the San Jose International Airport, although she can't see any van available in the "system". So we went. The line at the counter was 30 minutes long. The lady at the counter is probably new to the job, she had to call the manager what to do. Then she proceeded to process it and said,"It will be $4039, with insurance and tax." It's 4X my original booking. But mind you, there's a van available, only for $4039. But for my original booking, "it's SOLD OUT". AVIS SCAMS you face to face. At least you know who's scamming you. My friends, don't make the same mistake I made. DON'T rent from AVIS/BUDGET. They stressed me out and the whole family vacation was r

I recently had a very disappointing experience with this location. I had high hopes for my rental, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. Don't rent a car from this location !

Quick and friendly. The car, however, was not very clean inside, and only had a half tank of gas. I would probably come back here because the gentleman behind the counter was quite friendly and I was not charged to fill up the tank when I brought it back because I had taken a picture of the mileage and the gas tank level before I drove it.

It deserves no stars. If you absolutely have to rent from this location, please pay attention to the office hours. They close on weekends, but in the online system, they still let you pick up and drop off on weekends. And no, there isn't any car key drop off box! When I called customer service, they asked me to return at SJC. Had I known this, I would have picked a different car rental company in my neighborhood. Renter beware. Check before you confirm the reservation

Gave me the wrong size car (like 4 levels smaller), made me drive all the way to the airport to swap, turns out it couldn't be swapped for the car I reserved in advance, and got the runaround to cancel the reservation and try to get a refund. Lost hours due to their mistake. Never again.

The San Jose office is absolutely horrible!!! Staff is rude as f*ck. Avis call center is confused!!! The 408 993 2224 phone number is bull shit!! I called over 200 times over a 3 day period and am still waiting a response from the management. My reservation was for 700 a.m. showed up at 630 and was told she didn't know if they had my vehicle, WTF?!?!? Luckly they did. As they should have. If you have a choice to rent from some where else DO IT!!!!!

DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. switch to the San Jose airport if you can. The customer service here is atrocious, rude and slow. They will not have the car you want, charge you for an additional sized vehicle, and the return area is extremely poorly designed

This is the terrible office , the manager Anil Sharma was rude and mean, in last year August 2022, I rent cars here , He never offered a riliable cars, I need to exchanged cars many times and spent money to call a ride, at the last rent He asked me why you always got cars issues and another didn't , Mother fucker that rude idiot asked me this? althougt it happened in last year,but when I got near this location or about renting cars it will remind me to get angry!!! Rented out a convertible through priceline weeks in advance and 2 days prior to rental date, they so conveniently let me know that there are none left and that was that. No offer of changing to a different car or anything. With such short notice, no other company in the area had the car I was looking for. So thanks, Avis. You completely ruined everything I was looking forward to.
