Hands down one of the most exciting new boba spots to open in San Jose! I stopped by Insomnibar to check it out since it is still soft opening. I'm actually pretty obsessed with this place lol. Firstly, the space is absolutely stunning: modern, minimal, and vibey without feeling like a prestigious. I had strawberry matcha which is light and refreshing with the right amount of sweetness. My wife got the banana matcha which taste really smooth and crave-worthy. I really hope everyone tries this place! Very tasty. Will be back!

Our favorite boba spot! This place is near a business park. The owners are soooo sweet. My friends and I stop by weekly. The owners are so attentive and knowledgeable about their work. You can tell they truly are passionate about their business. They offer great suggestions and always seem to know what we're craving! The vibe is so cute inside too. Feels like a luxury every time we stop by. I tell everyone I know to come here! Great people, great drinks, great small shop!

First of all the atmosphere is really good, they played good music & customer service was super nice. We got the banana & tiramisu matcha, they were both good. I recommend the banana matcha one tho! Final Thoughts: 3.00/5 Hmm it'll have to be a 3 star for me today. Seems to be a new boba place within the San Jose area. My friends and I have tried so many, so we're always on the hunt for new spots to try. Honestly, there wasn't anything significant about the drinks or interactions. Overall, the experience was just alright for today. Drink: Strawberry Cloud Matcha, Less Sweet, Silk Almond Milk: 2.8/5 Pros first. I appreciate that they offer almond milk. While I prefer oat milk over cow milk any day, almond milk is usually my preference because of how light and nutty it is. Multiple layers to the drink, which is nice. I like the strawberry puree at the bottom because that natural taste. The milk/drink is too sweet for me considering it's "less sweet". Different places have varying levels, but this is just my personal preference. For the matcha, it's really light for me. When combined, the drink ended up just tasting like sweetened milk with strawberry milk cream on top. My least favorite in this was definitely the strawberry cream. It tastes like whipped strawberry milk in a carton; the ones that are very artificially flavored. The strawberry puree at the bottom would have sufficed for me. This flavor ended up overpowering the remainder of the drink, which did take away from my drink for me. Banana Matcha Latte, Regular Sweet, Boba, Coffee Jelly: 3.0/5 Friend's drink choice and I tried it for review purposes. Slightly prefer this drink because the consistency of the drink and there's just something about banana in a matcha latte that just makes sense. The matcha flavor is also light here. More sweet versus that earthy bitterness to it. Sweetness for this one was overly sweet for me. Of note, the boba topping and coffee jelly were added to this one, so perhaps there was a lot of flavor profiles in this drink. The few bites of boba I had were fine. The coffee jelly was just kind of there. Not too much of a bitterness to it and only really contributed to the texture component. Consistency was good. That slightly thickened latte was chef's kiss. For the flavor of the banana, the flavor is present, but the balance and ratios of flavors still seems off for me. Everything just kind of mixed together and mellowed out, so the end result was mostly just sweetened milk at the end. Cups: This was just an observation. From the other yelp reviews and pictures, I noted that they previously had those really cute, short and stump looking bubble cups. I was actually looking forward to this on the way there. We did end up getting regular cups, which is slightly disappointing, but I digress. --------- Quality: Aight Their matcha seems to be of optimal quality. Prior to being mixed, the color of the matcha is quite nice. It does give a deep and rich color. Of note, when the drink is fully mixed, the color is quite light compared to other places that I've tried. Perhaps it's the quanity. Their matcha is pre-mixed and not made to order. Small ladles are used to scoop and pour in the amounts, so my concern is perhaps the standardization of the recipes. I understand why that's done and perhaps that doesn't take away from the overall quality though. Price: $$$ This was truly my first impression of this boba shop and looking at the menu on the kiosk. These prices lean on the higher side. Our total came out to be around $18, which is averaged out to $9 per drink. Typically, drinks will be more around $6 to $8 these days. I understand that it is just a single dollar more, but that different can be deemed significant given what these items are. The average for their drinks here are more around $7 to $9 perhaps. Service: Limited Interactions They have multiple kiosks so we had very limited interactions. We order and then they call us to pick up the drinks. Honestly, we actually would have had zero interactions if we just took our drinks and left. Interesting singular interaction. We went back to the table and took pictures of the drinks. Rarely would I ever shake my drink by flipping it, but I decided to today. Big mistake because the drinks were not entirely sealed properly leading to my drink splashing everywhere. My friend decided to check his drink too and found that his was not properly sealed either. Perhaps this was just an accident, but I have observed other places checking and thoroughly wiping the drinks before delivering due to situations like these. They were nice enough to reseal it for us, but it was just a little unfortunate of an event. Ambiance: Sleek and modern This interior is super sleek and very much to my aesthetic. The ceilings are high and interior looks very modern. I like the black and white that is happening and it makes the place look high end and classy. Location/Parking: Secluded This location is on Silver Creek Valley Road and near Fontanoso Way. Kind of secluded here, but I digress. Parking isn't a big concern. There are optimal spots here given the number of places present here.

Insomnibar is the place to go for your caffeine fix! Their drinks are insanely good. I got their seasonal corn phin latte and my husband got the strawberry cloud matcha with boba. Their foam is top notch and to die for! Their drinks are high quality and made with love and care. The corn phin latte was not too sweet and the coffee was perfect. It's the pep I need to get me ready for my day. The corn foam on top was what made me fall in love with Insomnibar. It comes with a dome lid but if you pop the top and drink it straight from the cup you can taste the corn and it pairs perfectly with the coffee. The strawberry cloud matcha was heavenly. I had a sip of it and wanted more but by the time I was ready for my second sip my husband had drank it all!! How rude! He said the boba was perfect and the drink was so good he couldn't help himself and slurp it all down. The baristas are very sweet and accommodating. They told us to let them know if we needed any adjustments made to our drinks. I had to go back and let them know how good their drinks were and Lucy (the owner) was so kind to let me try the banana matcha latte! The banana foam floating on the matcha latte was a dream combination (especially if you like banana which I do) The banana foam tasted fresh and was not too overpowering. The blend of the two flavors had a perfect balance and the crisp of the banana chips on top gave it that extra fun to the drink. Not only are the drinks beautifully crafted, the taste and flavors are perfectly balanced. I can't wait to come back and try their honeycomb latte. Honestly I want to try ALL their drinks!

Halloween is in full swing at Insomnibar! The place is totally embracing the spooky season with an awesome "Ball of Fate" game. When you buy a drink, you get to test your luck. Sadly, my fate didn't win me anything this time, but I heard you could score a free drink, 20% off, or even a high five! It's such a fun and creative way to get into the Halloween spirit. The atmosphere was perfect for the fall season, cozy, lively, and full of festive vibes. The service was top-tier; the staff were super friendly, attentive, and my drink came out fast. Definitely worth stopping by if you want good drinks, great service, and that perfect spooky-season energy!

New modern/trendy looking place that is kind of a mixed gray area right now. Banana Matcha Latte - 3/5 I think this was more sweet than anything else albeit the aftertaste from the banana milk makes it feel more artificial than anything else. Matcha is basically non existence in flavor profile. Boba - 2.5/5 Started off strong, chewy and not tasteless, but near the end got lots of overcooked and flavorless boba. Cons right now for me: Location is kinda in the middle of no where, in a plaza that is not normally food/coffee related. Hours, closing at 4 daily, fit more of a morning coffee thing, which makes their menu (not very coffee forward) seem a bit of an odd choice. Workers didn't check our two drinks, both drinks had a faulty seal so tilting/shaking it caused both to spill. Not sure if they missed it as well, but after re-sealing, they "wiped" it with a towel or something that had some of the banana cream, so my drink also came back a mess. Everywhere on Instagram and menu pictures keep seeing the cute round-ish cups but you end up with a regular standard cup.

So happy that a boba place is a lot closer to my office now. Plenty of parking. Great when you want a boba break from work since it's around a bunch of businesses. The inside is so cute. Boba is delicious. I actually taste the tea. They have a tablet right at the front so you order on your own. You're greeted when you come in, but they don't hover and allow you to view the options in peace. I'll definitely be back to try more flavors.
