My daughter's school used them for a trip to Sacramento and the kids had no problems. The driver was really nice to them and thank goodness the kids behaved. No problems and the driver was where he had to be at all times.

This is Athletic Director Gordon Johnson of LPS Hayward High School and I would like to say that our school has used San Jose Characters for several of our school trips. They have the large buses and their drivers have been outstanding. On our latest trip one of their drivers, Julio Santiago, was outstanding. He was very helpful in so many ways. My wife was in a wheelchair and he opened up the side of the bus and assisted her getting in and securing her for our trip. He also supply our players with waters and was a very safe and friendly driver. Their bus was extremely clean and very comfortable. I was very impressed with their overall company and Sara, their assigner has been fabulous. Great company

My daughters school chartered several busses for their senior trip. From Scotts Valley to Los Angeles. One of the busses showed up with no A/C and the windows don't open. Its going to be 85-95 degrees today along their route. This is very disturbing that San Jose Charters would allow something this important roll off their lot without being checked - what else has gone ignored/un-repaired that we're NOT aware of. This bus company had PLENTY of time to find out their A/C wasn't working and dispatch another bus to the location as its a 1 hour drive from their site to the departure location of the trip. They knew, they didn't care and now are putting our kids' safety on the line. Shame on you San Jose Charters! Pure Greed and disregard for customers.

I just wanted to call and get a rough estimate on how much two 56 passenger charter bus' would cost before I booked. I had my company card in hand expecting to go ahead with the reservation. Instead, I was greeted with someone with an attitude over the phone. "hang up and email if you want a quote" *click*. That's fine. I will take my business elsewhere.

I booked almost 9 months before my wedding, and I told them how windy the road was and they said their buses could make it up the hill. I didn't know there was a size restraint to going on this road. I booked 55 person buses 3 days before my wedding i received a call saying their 55 and 45 person buses could not make it up there and their smaller buses were already booked that weekend. LUCKY ME. I changed to the 45 person buses and was told I would receive a refund. So they practiced the route, normally it would take 30 minutes. ended up at 1 hour and 15 minutes. The buses made it up there and made it back and because of road construction on 17 it took them 2 hours to make it back. No research on road constructions. Either way I still haven't got my refund on the different bus size, I have a feeling that the lady Sara didn't want to talk to me and after the 2 hour drive home after a wedding 2 of my friends got sick on the bus, so I am guessing she used it for a cleaning fee. However, I would have liked to know about this!!!!!! I WISH I WOULD HAVE KNOWN I WOULD HAVE GONE WITH MINI BUSES WITH LE GRANDE AFFAIR, NOW THAT IS AN AWESOME COMPANY!!!! I would never use this company again!

We've been using Royal Coach tour buses for years now with an annual retreat that I coordinate. Their service is top notch, reliable but quite pricey. And with the state of California's budget, an educator needs to roll like a baller on a budget. (aka...find a new bus company).....Though I was very hesitant as I've had horrible experiences with other companies (drivers being reckless, doors slamming on students, etc.) Our support coordinator did some research (thanks Diana R!) and came up with San Jose Charters. I am pleased to say that they were very professional, arrived early, drove cautiously down to Pacific Grove, and even took pictures for us. It's not an easy thing to drive 40 college students in a bus for over an hour but Steve did a great job. We'll absolutely refer them to our other campus colleagues :)

We hired San Jose Charters for our wedding. I've rented other bus companies before for work events and have never had a very good experience, this was very different. Sara, the Sales Manager, was great on the phone and got me all booked, answered all my questions and was able to handle the somewhat complicated arrangements. The day of the wedding the bus was early, the driver knew where we were going, had directions, knew the schedule - that has never happened before. Bus was in great shape too. Overall great experience.

I coach a couple of sports teams in the local area and use SJC for all our road game transportation. I first started using SJC when our previous bus provider cancelled our entire multi-bus order two weeks before the start of the season. Not only did SJC step in and save our kids season, everything (paperwork, payment approval) was signed, sealed and delivered within 5 days of the initial phone call. They are dependable, professional and committed to supporting their local community. We have never been late for a game or late coming home, and they are incredibly honest. Last year, one of my coaches unintentionally listed an additional service that we didn't need for a trip. No-one realized this until days after we'd used the bus service and signed off on everything. Instead of billing us, SJC immediately refunded that charge. I would not go anywhere else and have no problem recommending them to other coaches and teams in the area.
