The dining commons are very hit or miss. Sometimes food is good/decent, other times it's so bad that I have to throw the food away which I don't like doing. Sometimes the workers are nice and other times there are some that are mean. There is a good variety to choose from but I haven't tried all of them, it does get repetitive at times though. I like the little events they host as those are cute and fun and encourage more students to come there.

Food choices are bland and repetitive on a daily basis. It is undesirable to eat here every day of each semester. Would appreciate more diverse and healthy options. Lines are reasonable.

The DC is a great place to grab a bite to eat especially if you're a student. I'm a bit biased because I work here. We have a fun loving staff who is dedicated to serving the SJSU student body. Come join us for a meal!

So now my daughter is finishing her first semester at San Jose State University. The food in the dining hall is really hit or miss. She won't even eat in it anymore Now she eats in the food court where she has all kinds of choices because she says the food ain't so good in the food hall lately. I have ate in the food hall with her for dinner one time since school year started and it was not even near as good as it was when we tried it during her tour before she started school there.

The only reason you should ever purchase a meal plan at SJSU is if you have no other choice. There is hardly any variety in terms of food, and the food that is there, is often responsible for dozens of students getting food poisoning every week. Food is often under or overcooked, rotten, and sometimes just straight up inedible. I've seen some reviews say that breakfast here is tolerable, to which I agree. But lunch and dinner is basically a total loss. Again, if you have no other options, then fine, purchase a meal plan. But don't be surprised if you get sick a few hours after eating here.

This food's flavor is pretty bad and isn't that healthy. The pizza place, burger place, and asian place all taste pretty bad and are unhealthy. The other 2 are better.

The food here was really just not good! What is disappointing about it is that the thing that tasted good was the bagel pizzas but that is so unhealthy that it just shows that the school doesn't actually care about the quality for the food they are providing their students. And this is a problem especially for the D1 athletes that are eating a bunch of food each day to perform their best. If the school really cared about their students and athletes and sports they would focus on providing high quality, good food. Additionally, the food just was so bland, there didn't seem to have much seasoning which really made me not want to go to the dining common, and when I had to go to eat, I really didn't want the food. I have decreased my meal plan because of this because I really just don't value the food that they have there enough to spend money on it. Additionally, there are so little options open at the dining hall that it feels like I am just eating the same crappy food day in and day out there. The one good thing about the dining commons though is that they have really good service and the people there are very friendly and nice, thank god or that place would be insufferable! The school really needs to focus more time, money, and resources on providing good quality food to their students if they want to keep having students come back and spend money on it. This is just negligence towards the student and decreases the quality of the time of the people that go to the school, which in turn, decreases the quality of the school itself. Really disappointing, do better!
