Excellent food at excellent prices. Everything was ordered by QR code on the table (through Chowbus) and brought out within 10 minutes. My Japenese dad commented on the perfect texture of the sushi rice in the chirashi he ordered and loved the taste of the sashimi. The 8 pieces of sashimi consisted of salmon, tuna, bonito, and hamachi (yellowtail) along with tamago, ikura (salmon roe), and a quail egg for the deluxe version. My mom ordered the vegetable ramen (vegetarian) and chose miso as the soup base (tonkotsu pork bone broth and shoyu were the other two options). I tried a bit of the miso soup base and it was very rich! I ordered the Salmon Lover roll (salmon inside and outside) and a 2-pc unagi nigiri. These were delicious and refreshing! My dad was also impressed by the taste of the unagi. At the moment, there's a special running until October 31 - buy $60 worth of food and get a free Dragon roll! It's posted right on the door but we didn't get to that amount.

I had high hopes for this spot because of the good reviews but I just thought the place was mediocre. The place was pretty small, but there wasn't a wait for 4 on a Friday evening. They had a good amount of options on their menu and prices were reasonable and decent. Fish quality is mediocre and I ordered a miso soup, and it was quite salty. I didn't get to take a photo of the food and their water containers were also not properly cleaned and had dirt and brown gunk on it. This place would have been good but not 100% on cleanliness of their serving cups, containers etc.

This place is very affordable! My partner and I stopped by since we saw this shop recently opened and knew we must try. Parking can be a bit tricky here, so make sure to find a spot nearby and be ready to walk a little. The interior is pretty cute and cozy, though the seating does feel a bit cramped. It's great for a quick, casual bite. I did notice the salmon pieces were on the smaller side, so it would've been even better if they were a bit thicker. There's also quite a bit of fried tempura, like each roll had it, which I didn't love since it can get a little too oily for my taste. Hits: * Ladybug Roll is good. It's creamy and soft. Average: * Caterpillar Roll is good and nicely sauced with the unagi sauce. * Spider Hand Roll was pretty good too and satisfied the craving. * Baker Lion King Roll was okay. The salmon pieces were small. Final Verdict: Solid 4/5. The salmon pieces were on the smaller side, so it was decent overall but could've been better with slightly bigger portions. Still, it's a nice spot for an easy, budget-friendly meal with cute vibes. I do hope the menu expands with more items added.

Affordable sushi next to SJSU - whoohooo! I'm so glad so many more restaurants and businesses are opening in the Paseo. The sushi prices were very affordable- makes sense since this place is near SJSU and most of their customers are going to be students. Love that though! The sushi is pretty decent given the cost. I'll definitely be coming back! The staff is pretty attentive and the space is nice, clean and pretty casual.

Chose to have lunch here with a friend due to the great reviews. We arrived a little before noon and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't very busy (perhaps coming on a Tuesday had something to do with it). We were seated promptly and asked to use the QR code to bring up the menu. We ordered edamame and a California roll for appetizers and had the chicken curry and the nigiri special. Overall everything was cooked/made fresh and tasty but I feel that nothing was really outstandingly notable. The food basically met the bar for being executed in a good fashion. The curry lacked a bit of salt but I should look at that positively because the boxed stuff is typically loaded with salt. One thing I'll note is that there was some food blogger/social media female sitting in the corner during my entire time there. It looked like she ordered one of every single roll! She was addressing a professional photo/video-ographer - presumably this is going to be posted somewhere.

New spot near work, loved the vibe outside and it's really cute inside too. The location is a bit small inside so I didn't want to take pictures, but it is definitely cute and clean. I ordered take out from a small kiosk which functioned well and it was a quick process. Waited outside so I didn't take up a seat for anyone dining in. I was watching the summer SJSU crowd stroll by and 8 minutes later, received a text that my order was ready. I got 3 basics I like to see sushi restaurants do well: edamame, gyoza, spicy tuna roll The prices are a good value. The portions are fair and the roll and gyoza were amazing. The gyoza (6 per order) was perfectly fried, crispy outside with a mild but tasty inside. It came with a sweet chili sauce which was a perfect compliment. The spicy tuna roll was full of tuna, not just rice, and had some heat - mild for my taste, but definitely some. Edamame was the only let down, I wanted them to be salty and they weren't, easy fix though and probably best for those limiting salt. Definitely plan to be back and check out more of their menu, looks like they are applying to serve beer and wine as well!

This is a new hole in the wall spot with friendly staff across Philz Coffee. Orders are made by one kiosk or with someone at the register. There was a BOGO free chirashi or chirashi deluxe bowl recently, so I decided to try it out. I was a bit surprised by how long it took for the two bowls to be made (~20min), but maybe there was an influx of BOGO deals being put into the ordering system lol. Although the space is pretty compact, the interior aesthetic does look modern and it was very clean. FOOD: *Chirashi deluxe -- The salmon, hamachi(?), and rice were the best components. Tuna texture was a bit interesting, but tolerable. - Pros: Rice looked like what you would find in Safeway sushi, but turned out to be pretty good and I kept wanting to eat that first. - Cons: I was disappointed by the omelette because it was excreting a LOT of sweet liquid like tofu. Really wished they added more seaweed salad and ikura because it looked like there was way less than what was pictured in their ads. Protein to rice portion can be improved by adding the above components and tuna :( PARKING: There's street parking and nearby SP+ garages which usually offer first 90 min free of charge.

This is a relatively new sushi spot right by San Jose State. to be honest, I didn't have great expectations because it's a sushi spot near a college campus - but I was really quite blown away. Not only was the sushi affordable, but the fish was quite fresh and the portions were generous. Highly recommend!

Pretty good, it's by SJSU so recommend it for students. The restaurant staff was quick and friendly. I will say with the affordable pricing the size of the pieces did reflect that. Overall, it was a solid place and very cozy.
