If you're hopping between bars in the area and suddenly get that post-drinks craving, Quessiaberrias Tacos is the move. It's a family-run food truck, and you can taste the love in every bite. I tried their special quesabirria tacos -- cheesy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The meat was tender and well-seasoned, and the consommé dip took it over the top. Definitely not your average taco truck fare. The only thing to note is the price -- around $20 for 3 tacos. It's on the higher end, but given the quality and portion size, I'd still say it's worth it as an occasional treat. Location-wise, they've nailed it -- easy to spot, with plenty of foot traffic from nearby bars. Perfect for soaking up a few drinks before heading home.

My friend and I were bar hopping in San Jose. We needed a little sustenance around midnight and were told that tacos at this truck were the bomb. I got al pastor and chorizo the first time. I liked the al pastor more than the chorizo. Would have gotten lengua if they hadn't run out. We went to Paper Plane to get more drinks before going back for more tacos at 2am. This time, my friend and I each got 3 tacos of tripa since he said it was additive. Yeah, we wolfed down the tacos pretty quickly. Maybe I should try other things on the menu, but the tacos were sooo good. Yeah, definitely would visit again!

In regards to the quesabirria tacos, this place has fallen off over the past two years for me. To be more specific, cost vs. quality has heavily diminished. Here's a breakdown on the pros and cons of my visit earlier this evening: Pros: - the taste of the quesabirria tacos were minimally decent, but nowhere near satisfying - dining ambiance for eating at night makes me feel like I'm back in LA - The "Super Nacho" was surprisingly decent for being priced at $15 Cons: - consome is still as utterly disappointing as ever, reason being that it's so bland with respect it tasting more like greasy cilantro water than actual, proper consome. Don't get it unless you have no preference - my biggest issue: price. $19 for three quesabirria tacos (roughly $6.33 each) that are smaller than the crunchy tacos sold by Taco Bell is an absolute travesty. You ain't down with La Raza if you call this valid lol I'd genuinely rather get Taco Bell at that point - majority of the limes they gave me were dried out, making me think that they were essentially recycled from at least two days ago, but I'll chalk that up to bad luck TL;DR: Nachos were way more satisfying than the quesabirria tacos, which is disgustingly tragic. Even South Korea has better, more authentic quesabirria tacos (with actual goat meat) and it goes without saying that they only got roughly 30% of the birria experience down correctly. Given there aren't any legitimate competitors within a 50-mile radius, I can see why people go here, but definitely do not recommend you dine here if you're an LA native. You'll only be disappointed, possibly as much as I was. If you're a Bay native, this is probably the best you'll get north of Monterey lmao

Stopped by the food truck after a night of being out in DTSJ. We ordered: -2 steak tacos $3/ea -1 super steak quesadilla $14 It was an awesome spot in downtown SJ with seating too! Luckily, we came by when there was no line, so food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Be careful...the salsas are very spicy!! Cockroach warning. Saw quite a few running around while we ate.
