I have had the pleasure of experiencing The Clue Collective on two separate occasions, one for a corporate fundraising event and the other for a personal birthday party. Both events were fantastic! Melissa and her team curated experiences and stories that were detailed and engaging, making the mystery just difficult enough to keep a solid level of engagement (even for drunk adults) without making it impossible to solve. Highly Highly recommend!

Save your money and just buy a murder-mystery kit online. There is no value added to bringing on an actor - they just spoonfed us the clues and rushed through to solve the mystery for us. There was no satisfaction in trying to figure out the puzzle. There wasn't any time to get into our roles. They basically had us sit around the table and read through our booklets. The whole thing was done before we even finished our appetizers. Our party was fun DESPITE the murder-mystery appetizer read-through (can't call it a murder-mystery dinner since we 'solved' it over cheese and crackers). Big waste of money.

I am so happy to have come across the Clue Collective company online while searching for a company to host the Murder Mystery party that I was planning for my sister's birthday. Their prices were FAR CHEAPER than all the other companies in the Bay Area. I have to admit that This made me nervous, but I still proceeded with booking, and boy am I glad that I did! Our host, Lace exceeded every expectation I had. She was timely, so warm and welcoming and very professional. Lace was full of energy and kept the party going. Everyone is still raving about how awesome the party was. Thank you Clue Collective!!!

I booked the Clue Collective for a 1920's themed 25th birthday and it was absolutely amazing!! They were able to match all the other offers I had negotiated with other companies and were good at keeping up the communication. They offer a variety of options at different price points. On the day of the party, John and Kristine arrived an hour before the event and I got to meet them before the party started. They were very accommodating with guests not being able to make it last minute, and minor changes to the schedule. Kristine was absolutely hilarious when it came to playing her part. She was able to get the crowd going and into the whole act, as well as inspire our suspects to really put their best acting foot forward. John was great in his role as the detective too with his dry humor. All my friends were raving about the murder mystery for hours and even weeks after the party. It was many of our first times participating in such an event and it was such a good time! I can't thank the Clue Collective enough for the wonderful job!

Our experience was incredible! I booked a Murder Mystery Dinner for my step-daughter's 17th birthday. Emily was the actor who came out and she just killed it (no pun intended :) ). All the kids had a ton of fun, everyone was able to actively participate (12 kids) and explore and investigate. The game was interesting and challenging and well thought out but kept everyone's attention. In the end several "awards" were given. I talked to several companies in the area that did this and chose Clue Collective and it was a great choice!

I had never done a murder mystery activity before, but thought it was an interesting idea for a team offsite/team building activity. I was worried leading up to the event of people not getting into it or it feeling corny/fake, but it was the complete opposite! People on the team raved about how awesome and fun the event was. We only had a handful of people who dressed for the theme, but it didn't make a difference in how fun it was. I would definitely recommend it and the Clue Collective was a pleasure to work with! Very responsive and helped provide recommendations in terms of how murder mysteries are best structured (ie with a meal). I was worried the morning of if they'd have any trouble setting up, but they got everything done smoothly and were super professional. Definitely book with them if you're even slightly contemplating it!

It was a dark and stormy night in Redwood City, except it was late spring and the weather was perfect, but don't let that distract you. The Dame, The Doll, she toiled and troubled in search of the talent that would cover the job, the commitment. We had two score of rowdies from the school coming to the speakeasy so we could quench their thirst and kill one of them. We needed a host that could run it right. We talked to a few, but only a couple could cut the mustard. The Dame decided on The Clue Collective, largely in part because it was clear The Detective had her act together. Forty people, keepin' them happy, now that's a job. She and her assistant, a scrappy young Chap with enthusiasm, showed up (on time, unlike the bartender, that miscreant) with a bunch of binders and a story to tell. As I'm the owner of the joint, I had business to attend to during the show, but I saw how it was done and they did it right. The Detective figures out the crowd enough in advance to choose who should be which character, and then she gives each character a binder with the backstory. The illegal drinks are flowing while the characters get to know themselves, and then she forms teams. The Chap sets the stage for the story, the crowd gets into it (trust me) and someone has a tragic death, destroying that rug that really tied the room together. After the unlucky soul gets what he deserved, the teams get together and try to figure out whodunnit. Then the Detective makes her entrance... I could go through the rest, but frankly that's what you're paying for. What I can say is that they were on time, professional, knew how to run the crowd and everyone who attended had a great time. They are a relatively new business, and if there is one thing I like to write reviews for, it is promoting someone who has a product that exceeds your expectations.

We hired Clue Collective to host a Mystery (minus the Murder) dinner for my 12 year old daughter's birthday party. We had a small group of 8 people total with a couple of younger kids as well so we weren't sure if it was even possible to do this. The people at the Clue Collective were very professional and provided us with options to do this with competitive pricing. Given our group size and budget they even worked with us further to make it work within our budge so I am very grateful to them for that. Our actor was Emily and she did a wonderful job coordinating the dinner and making the kids feel comfortable and willing to get into acting and becoming the characters. It was such a unique and fun experience for my daughter and her friends that I highly recommend this experience for others who have teenage kids looking for something more intellectual than other standard birthday parties. Talk to Clue Collective and they'll figure something out for you that works!

I went to a party run by the Clue Collective, and WOW, it was a blast. The most fun my wife and I have had in a long time. They somehow read us well enough to give us characters that were SPOT ON for the kind of people we'd like to role play as.

I did the 'Framed at the Fix' storyline at a friend's place. I'm shy and this was my first murder mystery, so I wasn't sure what to expect. My character backstory was funny and well-written, with suggested 20's phrases and some initial tasks to do. This really helped me get into the swing of things. I quickly dived into learning everyone's backstories, looking for motives and inconsistencies. The dramatic events were great plot development and helped everyone get on similar pages. In the end I was so close to guessing the murderer! The actors from clue collective were excellent and professional the entire time. Overall great fun!
