This is really a great place for a wonderful celebration dinner. The atmosphere is great, the service friendly, and the food is absolutely amazing. Typical Italian dishes are prepared in a way you have never experienced before. Great appetizers, main courses, and desserts. A good vegetarian selection, including asking for substitutions on the non-veg dishes. The price is on the high side, but well worth the experience. Warmly recommended.

Came here to celebrate a birthday and it was great. Super delicious wine, appetizers, pasta, and desserts. The brussels sprouts appetizer is a must try. Cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere, so it is a perfect place to celebrate any occasion.

Had a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant is beautiful. Comfortably upscale is the best description I can come up with. You can tell a lot of thought went into its design. Well done!

The food was fantastic!
Big portions of comfort dishes but with unique twists. We loved that the sauce for the eggplant parmesan  was different than the sauce in the lasagna. Lots of places will just use the same across the board. The lasagna was the star of the show though!

The deserts were excellent as well. The meyer lemon meringue parfait was amazing. I would go back just for that.  And the bruschetta.  And the lasagna. And…  ok, better start planning the next trip!  Cheers!

Updates 2024 August:
Ordered the same pizza and pasta but portions are smaller, especially the shrimp pizza.
Service is very disappointing, no one is willing to place the order for us though we asked 3 staff, and we had to asked several times for water no ice.

While the food here was great, the service was not. This is the third time we’ve eaten at this restaurant - the first two times were very nice. This time was different. One of the front of house hosts was not very kind and made us feel uncomfortable. Our server was also not very kind, and seemed to judge us based on our age and dress. She and the host gave much better service to diners around us, and both avoided our table. There was another server, Luciano, who was excellent and very kind to us.
If you want a more courteous local dining experience for less money, I highly recommend Cafe Capistrano.
