The first gun show was to be had out here, in a handful of years since SF (big surprise ) closed the shows at the Cow Palace. It was very small, but I had to make an appearance, donations, to support the endeavor. Made a couple of purchases to patronize the businesses that bought in and helped make it happen. While small, it was about as good as it could be for its size. Bigger is better for these events, but you gotta take what you can get. Tomorrow is the last day of the gun show, highly recommended. Admission is $15, and discounts found online (FB and online google) for $2 and $3 dollar off coupons.

Good venue. Not friendly for a non profit organazation which was a shock to us since they are a non profit organization themselves. The management staff is over bearing and micro managed during the entire event. Our amatuer boxing event was strickly monitored and not allowed to sell our own water, sodas and fruit drinks which took away from our income. All drinks had to be sold by the hall and they made the income for the drinks. We could not use their kitchen to sell our food, but where allowed to set up outside. The seating areas was not what we were promised. They didn't have the amount of chairs they said they had. The parking area we were promised to be able to use was restricted at event time. The security crew brought in by the hall management was very rude and condensinding. As a non profit organization we keep our admission prices down so that all families can afford to come out and enjoy watching their kids compete. Over all this hall made it impossible to cover our costs. Seems that this hall is looking to make as much money as they can for any event looking to use their hall. So much for a non profit organazation looking to help the community. First and last time we will rent this facilty...The only reason we rented this hall this time was Nordal Hall was not available for our event. Next time we will wait until Nordal Hall is availble for us...

I was looking for a venue for my father in laws memorial. I had been here before for another memorial years prior and was happy they were the most reasonably priced and included more. I spoke with Eve who was amazing from the beginning. After deliberating with the family we decided to send over our deposit to hold our date. They allowed the taquero to begin making the food in the lot a couple hours before our event at no additional charge. They also allowed me to come in the night before to set up. To my surprise Eve and KD were very kind and helped me set up as well! At the end they helped me pack up and were very helpful to the guests throughout the evening as well. The place is clean and worked well for what we rented it for. It accommodated all 153 guests with room for 150 more. I recommend renting this hall if you're looking for a place to hold an event and not trying to break the bank. The family and guests were all very happy!

Nice venue; HOWEVER ... not very accommodating. We are a non-profit boxing gym and had a fundraiser show in November. Although they gave us a break with the rental, that was all they did for us. (1) they didn't let us sell our own waters and sodas; so we had to pay them back what we sold in waters and sodas; (2) they didn't let us sell our own Aqua Frescas; so we lost money with this because we had already paid for the drinks so we can sell them with our food; (3) we were told we would have access to the whole parking lot in front of the building; however, when we arrived they had half of the parking lot blocked for the Marines for their meeting and we were told that would only be until Noon, so it wouldn't affect our event which started at 1:00pm. But then another person in charge said "no", it would be blocked for the entire day; (4) they had their own security guard that was rude and made one of our young fighters cry because the security guard was yelling at 2 of our coaches because we were questioning the parking closure; (5) we had our own volunteer security guards at the door to check for wristbands. I pulled a stool from the bar area so they could sit down if they needed to because each shift was for 1-1/2 hours. Management came and took the stool away saying the stools belongs to the bar and we were not able to use it; (6) management was selling some waters and sodas from behind the bar inside the venue. Although she asked us to hold 4 tickets for her and her family, she let them in as her "guests" and stayed behind the bar so they paid nothing. Taking away from our fundraiser; (6) we were told they had approximately 300 chairs - which was great! Turns out, they only had about 225; which limited us to the number of patrons; (7) they micromanaged our event the entire time making whatever situation that came up, an entire bigger problem than it needed to be. Will never rent here again!!!

Brings back memories of Grandpa taking me as a guest to the Elks club. Always wanted to see the insides of the Santa Clara Legions, and now is your chance. TheAmerican Legion Post 419 offers an open to the public lunch deal that is one of the best in town. $5.50 ($5 if you mention the yelp discount) for a choice of 3 different entree items, coffee or tea and dessert. I went for the egg salad sandwich, chips and cheesecake! Staff is friendly too! The hall is circa 1950's Santa Clara, but I feel honored to have lunch with some of the truly great American veteran Heroes!

I had the pleasure of meeting Commander Gene and several members of the American Legion Post 419 recently while searching for a volunteer opportunity that would benefit from my background and interests (tech, photography). Everyone I've met at this location has been extremely friendly. First off, Yelp previously had it incorrectly categorized as a bar/restaurant. I'd confirm again that it is definitely a veterans' organization that serves a number of purposes including: - A place for a number of public events/parties throughout the year such as the car show, crafts fair, jazz band events, and holiday parties (especially in December). Looks like they keep their website updated with event details that you could check if you want to hang out at the post some time. Prices for drinks/food at the events were quite reasonable from what I saw. - A space for rent. I guess it would be classified as a banquet hall, event hall, venue rental, event rental or whatever you want to call it. I know they host several Santa Clara University groups since this place is right across the street. They seem to be pretty open to hosting events for various occasions such as birthday parties, corporate events, year-end banquets, weddings or just about anything else that could use the space. The entire venue has a stage (good for speakers/performers), dance floor, kitchen, bar, and general seating area. My understanding is that they also provide tables, chairs, basic table cloths, and even let you use their sound system/mic. Seems suitable for up to 200 people. Rates seem quite competitive to me given how much real estate in this area has gone up. For non-members, they currently charge: - $100/hr Sun-Thurs 8am-5pm - $125/hr Sun-Thurs after 5pm - $225/hr Fri-Sat Also to be clear, in case my pictures didn't help out, this is a simple, low-key building in Santa Clara and is certainly NOT the Ritz Carlton or a Michelin star restaurant. I believe it would be perfectly fine for a wide range of events, but you shouldn't go in expecting the place to look like the venues your friends rented out for a 100k wedding. Anyway, check them out if you're around and support the veterans!

Someone had told me that you could get a good burger here. What they didn't tell me was that it was whenever they felt like making it. I walked in in hopes of scoring said burger and was denied. Turns out they have a calendar of food for a couple of weeks and you just have to land it correctly. They have various forms of comfort food and as you guessed it, the clientele is on the older side. No one even batted an eye at me though and were content to let me go about my way. Now if I can figure out when the burger comes around next!

This is a great facility to rent for your next large event. The hall has an open floor plan, kitchen, bar, and raised stage for a live band/DJ. We came here to celebrate a family wedding anniversary. The hall looked really nice with all the decorations. You can make the hall look how ever way you want it. In fact, our cousins had all the tables and chairs covered with white linen and silver decorations. Even the ceiling was covered with decorations. There were tables filled with desserts, favors, pictures, sign in poster, and pictures of the couple with friends and family on the wall. The buffet line was on one side of the room and a DJ on top of the raised stage on the other with all the tables and dance floor inbetween. You can bring your own food or have it catered. They had the food catered and it was so good!! A variety of delicious home cooked Filipino food!! They had it set up buffet style near the kitchen. They also had water and sodas, but you can also order alcohol beverages at the bar. Bathrooms were really clean. They even had chairs and a sofa, which was nice for those who needed to nurse their baby. Overall, we had a great time. Great party with great food and company!

Where to begin. The person they have in charge of this establishment was horrible. Lack of management skills. She didn't want to communicate via email, only by phone calls. And if when we were able to get in touch with her by phone call she was always unprofessional and claimed she has another job, like she was bothered by the calls. She was always changing things she said. The feeling I got was that they were very discriminatory and judgmental toward Mexicans and it showed. It was to late to find a more welcoming place and a week before my daughters wedding we spoke with the manger and she began to tell us that she was going to have our guest patted down and bags checked like we are criminals. We told her that this is a wedding not some night club or concert event! We let her know that this was not going to happen to our guest! due it being racist and discriminatory. However my daughters wedding reception went well due to me and family but if we had to change anything , it would be to not rent this place.
