The drop in one star was due to the clam chowder which I found too heavy on al dente potatoes and carrots... luckily the steamed clams brightened the meal and were excellent. I chose the linguine pescatore which had calamaretti, scallops and prawns, capers added which brought out a bit more taste ... I added salt which I found unusual. The squid was a little rubbery... would I visit again ... yes but I'd order the clams again but something different to compliment them. Glass of pinot Grigio and sparkling San Pellegrino water which matched the Italian choices. As a dessert I had the affogato... perfecto

i don't know why i bypassed the stars/reviews for this place because they are absolutely correct. save your your money and go elsewhere. my party of two walked in and checked in. i made reservations hours before and they told me there's no reservations for me but it's ok, we can seat you. we were seated in the back near this cute little old couple enjoying their dinner. (you know they're regulars, so cute!) it took a long minute for someone to come to our table. and when someone did come, it was a gal with a pitcher of water .. poured some water into our cups and walked away. no acknowledgment, even when we said thank you. #WILD! another 10 minutes pass and a lady comes to take our offer. we place our order of half & half (half spaghetti & half veal/pork ravioli) and gnocchi alla genovese. once our order was placed, they dropped some rosemary bread + 1 oz cheese at our table. another 10-15 minutes pass and our entrees come. we dig in and are just shocked at how BLEH the food is. i think i honestly at 4-5 pieces of gnocchi from my plate and called it a day. my friend who ordered the half and half stated that we could have had better food had we gone to olive garden. how sad is that?! and i can honestly say i agreed with him. we did not stay long because we were just over the meal and get out. the bill came and we were a little surprised that they charged us for the bread. it was never told to us nor did we order it. it was placed at our table automatically after we ordered. that was deceiving for sure. did not like that one bit. but honestly, the bread was the only good part of the meal. how sad is that? neither one of us enjoyed the food and the only highlight was their bread. i just have to giggle a little reading that back. we for sure will not be going back to this establishment. not worth the drive nor the money spent. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE! you have been warned.

Food and service at Florentine Trattoria is excellent. They have a good selection of California and international wines. I have had many delicious meals and tasty desserts. They are located in a quaint open air patio with other interesting shops and food choices.

I post as many good reviews as I do bad and with that said, my summer visit to Florentine Trattoria was a good one, however this last stop was way below standards. The service was poor, the food so/so and my calamari appetizer was terrible. When I notified the waiter, who was a very nice guy apparently taking over for our waitress who disappeared into thin air, he apologized, but did not offer to take it off the bill. Lets just say, I'll be finding a new place to dine before a show at the Mountain Winery.

We had a great experience at Florentine Trattoria. I ordered Crab and Shrimp pasta and it was the best seafood pasta I've ever had. I asked Alexandro why shrimps tasted so fresh. He smiled and answered: because they are fresh! Bread and pasta also were outstanding! Friendly fast service, elegant ambiance, good prices and delectable food make Florentine Trattoria one of the best restaurants in Bay Area!

The Florentine Trattoria is one of our favorite restaurants and we eat meals here often. First of all, the place is lovely indoors and out. The outdoor seating is within a patio and not on the street. It is very peaceful and floriferous. The servers are excellent. They make us feel welcome and appreciated. We are never rushed and often enjoy a martini before dining. We have eaten just about everything on the menu! We especially enjoy the veal dishes. The Friday clam chowder is particularly delicious. And the salads are robust. I often order the eggplant parm... all the parm dishes are excellent. I have also greatly enjoyed the linguini with mussels or clams. And of course the house made bread with spicy cheese spread is very good always. Easy to fill up on! Leave room for the dessert! One that I enjov is the frozen limoncello, another is lemon sherbet served in a lemon! This dessert is actually flown in from Italy! The owner is from Calabria. If you enjoy eating Italian style like we do, we often order a pasta dish to split, followed by a meat dish to split. The restaurant is sparkling clean as is the restroom. Parking is on the street or in the free lot behind the restaurant. Enjoy!

Service. The service was terrible. We waited around 40 minutes just to place our order, and then another hour for the food -- despite the restaurant being half empty. To top it off, they added a 20% tip without asking and even had the nerve to request an additional tip.

A friend hosted her birthday dinner here in their private room off to the right of the dining room. This review is based on the set menu we had. Overall it was very good. I don't know that the staff handled our large party as well as they good but overall it was not bad. They were not very good about taking drink orders for those that did not want the pre-chosen wine. And the appetizer portions were very small for such a large group. The appetizers were the Calamari Fritti and Mozzarella Caprese. Both had good flavor. The calamari was nicely fried. I also had their House Green Salad. This was tasty. Liked the dressing on it. For my entree, I had the Veal Marsala. This was very tender veal. Had a good flavor and was a nice sized portion. Liked the side veggies and pasta with it. Also, their bread and cheesy spread is delicious. We did not get enough of that. Overall a nice meal.

Downtown Saratoga staple! Two of us ordered: -glass of sauvignon $13 -florentine cobb salad $17.95, was charged another $0.75 for a different dressing since the vinaigrette was too salty -burrata $13.50, was good -1 large 6 piece bread $3.50 The 1st round of bread is complimentary (2 slices each person I believe). I always love eating the bread here. Both orders of bread came out piping hot and it was delicious! Staff was friendly and attentive. Parking available in the back.
