Evan always makes us feel welcome every time we come in. He greets us with a smile and somehow remembers every detail, even when we say no green onions. Before we can even remind him, he says, "I already told the chef." That kind of service stands out. The food is amazing! Flavorful skewers, crispy potatoes, rich bone marrow, and rice that hits the spot. Everything comes out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. It's always a fun experience here with good vibes, great food, and friendly people. Evan makes the visit even better. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in Santa Clara and want a meal that makes you leave happy and full. "It's not BBQ, it's Frienship."

The meat was overdone and rubbery. The seasoning was alright. if anything I'd just come back for the squid. Also $10 for a choy lettuce is waaaay overpriced. Finally got a chance to eat at the restaurant. Food is good and more options than when we order door dash. I really like the expanded options. Tried a number of different things that we have never ordered from door dash like the beef tendon, grilled eggplant, grilled oysters, grilled scallop and they were quite good, but spicy. I don't have a very high spice tolerance. My husband's is much higher and even he said it was spicy. I would definitely Italy go back and try other things next time.

First time ever coming to this restaurant and it was wonderful. A special friend of mine enjoys coming to this spot for skewers so I knew it had to be something fire. All the BBQ items are well seasoned and a lot of different options for what you're feeling. We got the pork belly, lamb, and other flavorful skewers. Mostly the seasoning is cumin and chili powder on the skewers which can be kind of repetitive at times. The service was friendly and ordering was through a QR code to make it easier to order. This spot is open late as well so if you and couple friends want to enjoy each other's company over some skewers than this is your spot! Most definitely come back and try their other options!

Here for the second time. Still liked the beef skewers (w. fat) and Mongolia beef; juicy and flavorful. Lamb on willow branch was good, but some pieces were a little tougher, good flavor. Probably won't get the lean beef skewers again - we prefer the fattier meat. Braised gizzards were overcooked and hard, but the new ones they remade for us were much more tender. Can't go wrong with pork belly with enoki mushrooms, just wished it came with more like in the picture than just 3 pieces on the stick. Tried green beans this time, it's okay, but didn't like the chili garlic sauce they seasoned it with. Service was okay, the cell service was really bad making it hard to put in orders. The WiFi was slow to connect to as well, saw other tables around having the same issue so took a little longer trying to put in our orders.

Tried here a while ago (when they just opened), and I remembered liking the skewers enough, but nothing stood out. My fiance was craving skewers and wanted somewhere that we haven't had recently, so I suggested to give Friendship Bbq another chance. Overall, I still thought the dishes were just okay. This time, the skewers were memorably too salty. Tendon is on the chewier side, so I would not recommend if you prefer them soft. The intestines were pretty good though. There wasn't much difference between the fried and the braised version except that the fried one was slightly crispier. Taste-wise, it was exactly the same. The veggies (string beans and oyster mushroom) were good. Unfortunately, they didn't have rice so we couldn't finish half of our dishes. We don't normally order rice with our skewers, but this time, we made some of order choices based on the assumption that we could have rice with it, but they didn't tell us that there was no rice until we asked where our rice was...the service definitely could've been improved given that we were the only customers dining in at the time we placed the order, not counting the kids who were playing at a different table. (The staffs were actually nowhere to be found when we first entered the store, and we just sat ourselves down.) We were there at normal dinner time so it wasn't that they didn't have time to prep rice, the most basic staple chinese food. They asked us if we wanted to wait for the rice, but we were already halfway done with the food, there's no point waiting another 20 minutes for the rice to be ready. There was a big party (friends on the owner apparently) that came in shortly after, but I don't think that would've made a difference in service since the servers didn't interact much with them either. However, now that I think about it, the staffs were probably prepping for the big group's order. The waitress also spilled a bit of the hot dish (it has broth) on us. She seems new at waitressing, but she could've at least offered to grab more napkin. It reminded me of when I was new at waitressing though, so it was understandable. The restaurant itself should have two staffs on the floor if one of them was inexperienced though.

Overall the place is not bad at all for a skewer place. Pretty authentic but there's somethings that kinda put me mark it down a bit. The skewer hot pot feels just like things that people don't get and put in to a pot. There was a HUGE amount of stomach and nothings wrong with stomach but for that we felt like we ate like 2 cow stomachs and just a little bit of like quail eggs and stuff. The other meat skewers are nice and chunky like how I like it, just a little bit pricey but it's good. The enoki mushrooms are really good a must order if you go. The cucumber was very bitter though in the salad, I think it's the cucumber they chose where they need to peel more of the skin. Overall not bad but not super good but at least it's not too salty which a lot of places over salt their food.

Overall it was okay. Bit salty and same flavoring. I enjoyed the cucumber salad. Pretty big portions so don't over order if a small party. Kinda bummed they didn't have the drinks I wanted in stock. I liked the hot pot skewers, but wish they had more variety. Lots of seating inside, but a small restaurant. Service was good. Just wasn't amazed by the food. I still would recommend to try.
