11 years after my original review, I'm happy to report that Lock Chun remains my go-to Chinese restaurant for a quick meal. The service is fast, the food is tasty, and the portions are a good value. And yes, the service is still good, too. I just wish I lived closer to this restaurant. And that is why whenever I have lunch there, and I will also order food to-go and enjoy later at home. Recommended!

We just finished our take out dinner from Loc Chun and boy.. it did not disappoint! The House Chow Mein was especially delicious. Very kind customer service! Also it made us feel like they were keeping standards high with how clean it was inside. That's a really big deal to me! We hadn't been here before but we will definitely be returning.

The Broccoli with Beef lunch special is super salty. It's like you are eating salt. It was really bad. Chow mein is salty also. I suggest you request to lessen the salt when you order the food.

Honestly this is one of the best family style Chinese restaurants I've been too. I have liked every single dish I've ordered because they're all so flavorful! The staff is so kind and always makes us feel welcomed by checking in on us! If you're going to come with a big party I recommend calling in to make a reservation. I expect Lock Chun is enjoyable for those looking for a reasonably priced American-Chinese restaurant, with most flavors being tuned to that palate. I can safely recommend it for those seeking that kind of fare. For more authentic Chinese food, I'd advise looking elsewhere. My personal misgivings aside, I had no qualms with service or value as staff interactions were quite friendly and the lunch special is a pretty good deal for the quantity of food. Parking wasn't too hard to find and it's situated near a convenient crossroads, so good for a quick meal during errands. Lunch specials covered your standard fare of Chinese dishes, but my go to for testing the waters has always been twice cooked pork. Specials come with a spring roll, soup, and serving of chow mein/white-rice/fried-rice. Twice cooked pork - 3/5 Decently good amount of food for the price, but generally pretty salty without too much depth. Ended up having to drink a lot of water to compensate for the saltiness. Nothing particularly special in terms of quality or preparation, but nothing terribly amiss either. Flavor is definitely more Americanized than not, as the hot and sour wasn't spicy at all. Not using pork belly added to the dryness, and needed more umami with less sodium. Absence of bean paste or heat was quite noticeable. Spring roll was a cabbage base and well-fried, coming with mustard and duck sauce.

In our household, it's a tradition to grab some American-Chinese food on Dec.26. We don't have a special place we go to and sometimes some of our experiences end up in disappointment. Luckily, and thanks to Yelp recommendations, Lock Chin did not disappoint. There is plenty of parking in the shopping plaza, but the restaurant itself is on the small to medium side (maybe around 10 tables). Walking in, we saw 4 other parties seated (guess we all had the same idea). There was nobody at the reception area but a woman quickly emerged from the back and seated us right away. I was craving sweet-sour pork and when I spotted it on their lunch menu, I was sold. The lunch comes with soup of the day, egg roll, your choice of rice/noodles and the entree. With prices averaging around $15, that's a steal. Soup of the day happened to be one of my favorites: hot and sour. I was surprised by how generous the portion was and by the amount of ingredients in this "free" soup. Usually you will find one bamboo shoot and maybe a strip of tofu, but this was stacked. Honestly, I would come back just for this soup. I ended up getting my pork with friend rice. The pork was juicy, the batter had the perfect amount of thickness to keep it crunchy (even drenched in yummy sauce), and the portion was big enough to take home. The fried rice was great too. I was super happy and satisfied. The egg roll was pretty bland and I probably wouldn't order it as an appetizer, but since it was free I can't complain. Overall, I was super happy with this choice and this may become our go-to going forward.

Hole in the wall Chinese restaurant that if you were to drive by, you'll miss it. Located in Woodhams plaza, this Chinese restaurant has a delicious line up of your normal Chinese comfort dishes...BUT my favorite of all is the Mongolian Beef here. The ratio of beef to onions is tremendous. Other places...have so much green onions/onions...not at Lock Chun! TONS of beef here...TONS in the Mongolian Beef! Highly recommended!!!

In this current world of dumpling, hot pot, trendy Asian food... it's nice to have a go-to traditional Chinese spot, that is NOT Panda Express . They do Chinese food right, and everything is delicious. I love this place.
